    Definitely a sobering summer.

The reality is though our biggest FA probably will be Luke Walton over Byron Scott. Luke, just by being a half-way decent coach, should get us at least 10 more wins. I remember a good 10 wins last season we could have had but Byron either purposely lost them or he's the worst coach of all time. Could be both.

If Bazemore is worth 70, Lee is not worth more than that. They're the same height, Bazemore is younger, average almost the same numbers, but Bazemore's are a little better. I don't offer Lee more than 60-65. I also, despite what I said during the Finals, throw a max offer at Barnes immediately. And as far as us only having one signing so far, I'm impatient too, but remember, this is still day 1 of free agency. Durant and Horford are going to hold quite a few things up over the weekend and maybe longer.

I don't believe so. I think it takes probably about 2-3 seasons for this group to be in the playoffs, but based on what I saw from Russell and now with a better coach in Luke I'm expecting big things from the kid. His skillset, his basketball IQ, and craftiness make him a perfect fit for what Luke wants to do.

We've all gone on and on about Ingram, but he honestly should've gone number one to me. Maybe that's the Lakers homer in me, but he is the guy I was watching and wanting all season long. His potential is through the roof, he can do just about anything on the basketball floor other than maybe pass at a high level and pick and roll, but he's basically a high school kid so I understand it'll take time.

The rest of the guys can at the very least be very solid complimentary pieces although I think Randle can definitely be a bit more. I was impressed with him in that Miami game. Takes a lot of stones to take and make that kind of shot. All he needs is a jump shot to take off and he's already working on it. He's a relentless worker as is Clarkson.

Oh I'm with you. Betting on the kids is DEFINITELY a risk. There's every chance that they don't grow next season, but this is where we are now. Our roster has Randle, Russell, Ingram, Clarkson, Nance Jr., Zubac, and even Anthony Brown and Tarik Black who all need that time to develop and that's what we're betting on. There's every chance they bust, but isn't that where lottery teams live? The Kings, Bucks, Magic, Sixers, Nuggets... how many years have they been treading? It's up to our scouting department to make sure we've got the kids who can handle the franchise. Luckily for us, the scouting department is the only thing in the FO that actually works.

Guys, I keep coming back to Afflalo on a reasonable contract as a solid wing pickup.

I have a 9-month old now & a whole bunch of pesky adult responsibilities these days (BOOOOO!), so I don't follow the league as a whole as closely as I used to, and I feel like I haven't heard anything about Afflalo in like 3 years, so someone tell me why he wouldn't be a solid pickup in a position of need...

Well said. We made two moves yesterday and got rejected today. It happens. We just have to move on and put together the best roster possible.

@trodgers hates him now. His stats have been steadily declining and apparently he's just not that impactful anymore. New York can probably vouch for that.

I'm with you though if he's affordable, I want him.

One minute your okay and positive then a switch gets flipped.

    Relax dude.

What did Kobe often tell us of some of the advice Phil taught him back in the day. Never get to high, never get to low in games. Staying even keel and understanding the bigger picture at play.

He may be an option. As @trodgers pointed out, his defense has gotten worse each year. However, still competent offensively. He'd be a decent grab.

He would be a great pickup IMO, I have no idea why there's been no rumors with him or why the Lakers haven't been mentioned with him. He's was born in LA, he went to UCLA, he averages better scoring numbers that Bazemore and Lee.

I down with letting them grow and trying to save our pick. I'd puke if we had opportunities to get a player and couldnt due to a contract. But, if this is how things are going to be, Mosgov might be our whale.

Aka - Ingram better be a beast. He's our best chance at becoming ourselves again.

I don't see how that's flipping at all. I never said I'm not being positive. I said in the other thread I expect us to get two to three solid veterans and I'll be happy. Well a number of them have been signed already. We need to get one of them and probably two of them so I think you can understand my frustration.

Yea, this is exactly what we shouldn't do.

I think while in NY he was asked to do more than he's capable off on the offensive end. Might have taken a little off from his defense. I remember in DEN he was always solid (Not thick) on defense.

I really don't think it'll be that bad. The Cap will go up again next summer to at least 107 million and by then that contract is only 15% of the cap and a 1 year deal. I think it'll be alright. Just wait until we sign Afflalo or Lee to a 15 million dollar deal!

Whatever dude. All I'm saying is I want someone. At least a veteran or two in addition to Mozgov. Same thing I've been saying. Dudley, Bazemore, and a number of other veterans have been signed already. That's why I'm frustrated. Getting one of these veterans is a must with these young guys.

We're all passionate fans, some people just handle the journey of trying to get better, seeing progress, differently than others.

That 5th year is why he hasn't been signed yet. Interesting.

    That'd clear some cap.
