Yeah edited my post: I'd gladly take Korver or Thabo, but they have to include a pick. I'm not about to help them clear money to be great without taking a pick.

Woj says they've found some ways. Heck if they're bringing in Horford AND Howard, there's probably not room for Millsap. I'd love to take Millsap from them.

Didn't show much? I disagree. I think they showed about as much as you could expect given how Byron handled them. Don't know anyone expects them to have great rookie years when they're either getting benched or in fear of getting benched.

Millsap is the most criminally underrated player I've ever seen. He needs more respect. I'd be furious if I were him and they sign Dwight and bring Horford back.

Is it not strange that there is almost no news of Barnes out there right now? Last I heard the Sixers were offering him max. Should we go full desperate mode and do the same? I'd have to think he'd take us over the Sixers. Solves our SF problem, would look reasonable after the Mozgov deal.

I feel silly hoping against hope for him. Of course he'd rather be with more competitive teams like Washington and Atlanta.

I'd hoped we could attract two stars into the 60+ million, but oh well.

Jim's way of saying "I just reset the clock back 3 years on myself" with this signing. He'll spin it that because he's had such fantastic luck in the draft (and let's face it he did, after trading all our picks away for Nash), that we need 3 years to get all this youth all grown-up and playing Laker ball, so who cares who we sign. Of course they'll also say they don't know what people are talking about, we had Mozgov in the top 5 FAs on our chalkboard.

    Great post and analogy.

I was arguing with a colleague of mine at work today bringing up the same example of Portland. They clearly overachieved last year by making a playoff run and competing hard with GSW. Now they are reaping some of the benefits of that.

With the better overall Free Agents next year we have to show what we're capable of in the upcoming season. no doubt.

I guess that's true. Only way they don't match is if they get Durant, which is probably why we aren't hearing anything on Barnes at the moment.

Well the interesting thing would be to try to push him to sign a deal right now. That'd force them to either match or pass while they wait on Durant. It'd be a shrewd business move, but it would take Barnes being will to sign the deal to make that happen.

Riley what are you doing? Slap in the face, no question. I actually hope he goes to Bucks or Knicks. Just give the Cavs another team to have to compete against please.

Yeah Scott was just horrendous, but so many blow outs, so much lack of effort, so much deer in the headlights looks, Walton has his work cut out for him. None of them showed me they were stars on the rise, more like run of the mill players that could hang but not take it up a notch. Now's their chance to to change my mind, and the rest of the country. I've got a lot of hope and confidence Ingram will be that guy...

I hope everyone is ready for a Courtney Lee, 4/60.

I would too at this point, but it takes two to tango. I wonder exactly how much we'd have to overpay to get him here. Do we throw the same 4/72 at Lee now that Bazemore passed?

    Could be even more :)

Take a deep breath KB8! The final number is not the one we need to look at. It's the percentage of the cap. The contract Bazemore just signed was basically the same one that DeMarre Carroll signed last summer. Overpaid, but not as much as you'd think.
