I'm on board with you Weezy....there's gona be alot of crow eaters either way, I'm seeing alot of Hibbert failure as well, not the same way as far as sloth like movement and constantly falling down but failure non the less

@Weezy and @Doc Brown I'm with you guys.

We just gave 64 million dollars to a guy with a bad knee who didn't even ****** play last season! Think about that! If this is the new direction of the FO, I just don't know what to say. If he was so good, why didn't he play in the playoffs? He is not Bogut, he doesn't defend or pass like him, but he also has the benefit of not being healthy! Wonderful. Just bleepin great.

I hate this. hate it hate it hate it hate it!!!

This was a f***ing disaster signing. WTF is Mitch doing? This is really all you could come up with?

Might as well save that money and just roll with Tarik Black

I will forger your opinion in 15 minutes so I'm not really the guy to bookmark your post. You know that.

But if you still aren't getting what the market is then I'm pretty done trying to make the point. I've already proven this I'd a market value price. Your opinion is based off of your personal view of the player. Mine is based on the market.

When he is a super average Center I'm sure plenty of you will throw it in my face foe some reason even though I've been clear from the start I think it's an average move. Either way I'm moving on.

Real, I've no desire to throw this in your face later, we simply disagree. I genuinely hope I'm wrong. Basically what it boils down to is I think we gave a crapload of money to a mediocre player and am not ok with that and hate the signing, and you're saying we gave market value to an average player and you are ok with it. I understand your argument completely, that's fine, we disagree, no big deal. I just want what's best for the Lakers, and this to me is not what's best, so I'm pissed. I've also had a pretty bad week personally and this did not help.

I agree with @therealdeal . He's a guy who forgets opinions in 15 minutes. (That's 3/5 for our bet. Am I doing this right? Hahaha)

I came off saltier than I intended :D

I'm not upset, just exasperated by the outpouring negativity. We're going to be crushed often enough by know-nothing ESPN talking heads. I would have liked more positivity here, but them's the breaks. I really just don't have the energy to keep arguing about this all day and probably for the next few days while guys continue getting paid.

We'll just have to wait and see how these contracts continue to develop. So far Timofey isn't even close to the worst one I've seen and I think it's going to get crazier than this.

Yea I agree, the media is already ******** on us as is. As Laker fans we need to stick together and ride out this storm.

It's like what Jon Snow said, "We need to trust each other, we can't fight a war amongst ourselves. We have so many enemies now".

Welcome I guess, Mozgov. I'd put this at about a C+ signing. Not the home run FA signing I was hoping for, not even a triple, or a double. I guess it's equivalent to a single. Maybe a lead off single if I'm optimistic that there are one or two other decent ones coming as well. Well, you gotta start somewhere.

Yes in this market Moz was probably gonna get around this because in a money-heavy, player-light market some desperate teams always throw way too much money at some undeserving players. It just SUCKS to be the first and most prominent of those desperate teams. The Laker name amplifies this, we're not the Hornets. At the outset of free agency too. It was akin to stamping our foreheads with a "SUCKER" tag. Well it's up to Moz and the FO to prove everybody wrong and of course I hope they do. The facts and stats are not on their side.

We just signed Clarkson to a bargain, and had to over pay for a center because they're lacking in this league.... We're off to a great start in free agency. Far as I remember, Moz was actually a damn good defender, and probably eons better than Hibbert... I'd say a great start so far. I'd like us to resign Hueratas and Black for cheap, and get another SF....

I just looked at the list of free agent centers and there weren't that many reasonably attainable players for us anyway. I mean Biyombo is still out there but I haven't heard a single thing about him since before free agency started.

Mozgov fills a need, and we didn't have a better FA alternative that was interested in coming here, apparently, so I'm ok with the acquisition. Not in love the with dollars & length of the contract, but will consider it MUCH more satisfactory if it's confirmed the 4th year is a TO.

Mosgov is better than Hibbert. That's not the issue.

My gripe is his injury. If he comes back playing like he did two years ago? That's fine. I can (kind of) support that. But I have my doubts. My gut just hates this.

I wouldn't have minded this signing...as much if it would've come later. I get there aren't a lot of centers out there. But this is your call at 12:01? This is who they wanted. I get no top guys were coming, that was apparent a couple hours before FA. But you throw a big deal (even if it's considered market value now) at a backup center who's health isn't 100% without exploring your options...that's unwise. I think we could've done better, I think we could've gotten him for cheaper if we really wanted him.

Let's not forget about Durant. Wherever he goes, you can hold that team over the barrel and get Bogut/Kanter + an asset.

I think Mozgov isn't quick enough for our young kids or for the direction the league has shifted.

I hope he proves me wrong, I really do. He's a good guy and this isn't on him, it's on management.

So much negativity. We had a target. We nailed it .
Before he inks is contract, he'll have a physical and probably an MRI on his knees. The Lakers will do their due diligence.

A plain C for me...him coming off an injury. I'd grade it like you would if we did not dole out that much bread or the term was shorter. The other side of the coin though is we have to consider the amounts being thrown around to the latest crop of signees during this period is nuts.
