Lee would be nice. I haven't heard anything with his name attached yet.

Yet another reason why we should've extended an offer to Meyers Leonard and forced Portland to overpay. I'm certain that Timmy Moz would still be there right now as a fallback plan. Would much rather have had a 24 yr old Leonard to go with our young core to take lumps together then run the league in three years.

He's been talking to a couple teams. I thought the Knicks were one of them. At this rate, he's going to get 18 million by Sunday.

I understand your argument, but I disagree actually. I think it's important that we get a veteran on the squad. I would have maybe preferred Biyombo but... I don't know. I get LA's thinking with getting a veteran in the locker room over a guy like Leonard. I also personally hate Leonard and his attitude. :D

It's just funny the level of mental gymnastics you're playing to defend the move when you were immediately against it so badly.

His struggles are solely due to his injury.
He's only injured because Cleveland is some evil organization that forced him to come back early.
He's definitely going to get healthy, remain healthy, and resume playing at the level he did 2 years ago.
He's a hard worker and a professional and good value and a 7 foot body who can anchor the defense.
Even though we said those same things about Hibbert, there's NO way Mozgov similarly underperforms
Why? Because I watched a highlight video and he looked better than Hibbert when playing alongside Lebron.

Oh my gosh... I hate this man. This upsets me more than any contract I've heard so far.

To those folks who have mentioned Courtney Lee as an option...all I can say is, "Do it, Mitch!"

Been a fan of his since he was in college. I think he'd be a heck of an addition.

I'm getting the feeling it might be a slow weekend for the Lakers.

With all of these huge contracts I'm starting to realize that solid roll players on old Salary Cap contracts are going to be the new rookie contract.

We could be waiting on the Kevin Durant effect
    1. RFA from teams needing to clear space.
    2. Salary dumps from teams need to clear space.

Seems like #1 would end with a player potentially being overpayed the max (i.e. Harrison Barnes)
Seems like #2 is more realistic, where we get either that solid roll player on old Salary Cap contract, or the 1 year rental type we have been going after the last few years.

I know the LB members have been chatting both points for a while now. Be interesting to see what management can pull off in this area. Will really make or break how we feel about the off-season.

Moreover we have to spend it anyway.

We either spend it and get something, or we don't and the excess cap room money is divided among the players on the roster. I love our players, but of the two choices, I think I'd rather see if Mozgov can get back to beasting like he did in the 2015 playoffs.

Hopefully he will, we will see. He can make up for his lack of speed by moving the ball quickly, but I'm not sold on that happening. He's a big dude though, certainly stronger than Hibbert. Going to clear serious space for Russell and JC.
