Good lord.. ESPN was reporting "max deal worth more than 139 mil", 145 is a little more than just "more". :D What are LeBron, Durant and Westbrook going to get next year, 50 mil per?

If LeBron stays in Cleveland I believe they'll have his Bird Rights by then... contract starts AT LEAST at 36 million. With full Bird Rights: 5/209.1 million dollars. Last year is over 48 million alone.

Agree to disagree ... but "stink to high heaven" when the reason he wasn't playing more is well freaking documented is unwarranted and way over the top with your hatred of the move. People explain and give reasoning and you just keep coming with the same diatribes that aren't even factual. Look at what he was 13 months ago, not injured last year. But don't let facts get in the way of spewing.

Late to the party here. Wow, Mozgov as our first call - can't lie I was incredibly disappointed last night. To go from talk of Whiteside, maybe Horford, then down a notch to Biyombo . . . end up not talking with any of them and settling at 12:01 for Mozgov for 4 years 65 mill? Yikes. Talk about a reality check. My real question here though - why not at least attempt to speak with Horford and why not have some patience and wait til DD was done with Toronto (writing on the wall was Toronto wasn't going to let him walk) then try to go after Biyombo?
Not sure I get it. I'm not hating on Mozgov, I just don't see him being your first call and not even bothering with Horford or Biyombo. I guess I get not going after Whiteside if you think he's going to bust and he'll eat up huge cap. Turns out he wasn't coming here anyway and maybe they knew that.

It's not the end of the world. If Mozgov can get healthy he'll be an upgrade over Hibby. Hopefully we get a decent wing. It will interesting to see how the Durant/Warriors talk progress - might open up some more FA's.

For the record I'd be fine with an Evan Turner signing. I like him. But I'd also like a shooter or backup PG as well if we get him.

I believe wholeheartedly that the Lakers knew there was no interest. Sure we did not reach out to Horford, but there has been no indication at all ever that he was interested in coming here. They probably knew that and then decided to make their move. They went with the veteran guy. I would have probably gone with the Big Mack Biyombo, but... whatever. I don't hate the move. It's the epitome of an average move.

It's actually silly to think that our FO wouldn't reach out to the other Centers. This means they called their agents and the agent said "*Blank* is not interested in playing for the Lakers"

And that's how Mozgov became the first call

Apparently, nobody wanted to have a meeting with the Lakers. It was a, "Welp, I guess this is the best we can do" move.

I'm really confused about our guards situation. If we sign Turner is he backing up JC at the 2? If so what happens with Lou? We made the qualifying offer on Huertas, are we keeping him too?

    Russ/Lou/Huertas
    JC/Turner/Lou?

We need a SF, can't go into the season counting on 82 games of a rail thin Ingram at the 3 and Brown as the lone backup. We need a starting caliber SF, or quality backup to split minutes with Ingram. Turner is only 6'5, don't think he's an option at the 3.

I imagine him as a backup SF which would be fine. He's a really good defender and would do a great job of running that unit. He could start at SG though if we went that route.

Sigh. Mozgov can knock down mid range Js and isn't bad at the FT line.

I'd be good with that then I guess, split minutes with Ingram. That would leave us still needing another guard though. Don't want to go in with only 4, and only Russ and Huertas at PG. JC CAN play PG, but I'd rather he played most of his time next to Russ and that Lou went back to much less minutes than he got this season, back to his 6th man instant offense role. Who's available at backup PG? I know Jack is, but that is one case where someone actually might not come here because of Russ.

Just read an article on Bleacher Report about how the Lakers didn't have much of a choice on Mosgov.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...y-mozgovs-massive-contract?yptr=yahoo&ref=yfp

A few things that stood out.
    1. He call LBJ arguable the smartest passer of all time. GTFO. Has he never seen Magic play.
    2. He stated the contract is four guaranteed years, which would contradict what I thought I heard on the Vertical. Not good news if true.

We are the laughing stock of the Bball world right now with this Mosgov signing. I know Whiteside and Horford might have been too ambitious, but did anyone think our FA signings would be this bad? Can we please stop making excuse for this FO and clean house now?
