You all can pick on me all you want. I'm not going to retaliate. I feel disgusted and frustrated and writing negative posts seems to be the only thing saving me from complete head explosion.

I swear to god, if they had gotten Mosgov for 2 years at 12 mil per, I wouldnt have been this irritated. I would not have been this irritated if they had made a few calls to legit players and then settled for Mosgov. At least that would have made sense. What is the Lakers pitch now? Have they done any work in that realm? Is their any innovation instead of the "We are the Lakers" or "We have jersey's in the rafters"? Is that ball cap wearing bartender done anything positive since he has been here? Jeanie should move to New York and help her man with the Knicks since she cares more about some 71 year old geezer than the Lakers. I loathe when personal gets into business. All this is because of personal feelings about who can do what and how the other guy cant. I just want the team to go back to winning basketball and getting guys to play for a winner.

No, he can be a starting C on a good team, we saw that with Cleveland. I phrased that wrong. IF he is your starting center and your team doesn't have a LeBron, Kobe, Durant, Curry, Westbrook, etc, then you are probably a bad team. That's what I mean when I say eye test is "starter on a bad team", because we are going to be a bad team next season with him as our starter, where multiple other FA centers out there will make a bad team into a better team. Mozgov doesn't add wins to us, and if he does, it's a handful at best.

Sadly this is what the past few years of dumpster fire play has gotten us. I was underwhelmed last night with the news, but not surprised. Today I look at it as making the best out of a fruitless pursuit for top tier FAs by the much maligned Laker front office. They filled a need at the 5 with a guy that will match up well against certain teams, not so much against others. Looking around at the signings so far, no teams are stealing those top tier FAs anyway. My take is Mozgov at 16mil for 3 yrs with a TO on the 4th is solid, and better than getting Whiteside for 23 mil and his questionable attitude, or Noah at 25 mil and his questionable health concerns...and certainly better than bringing back Howard "the champion" in his own mind...

Yes. But back to the question of who we really could have picked up from Whiteside, Horford, (is Biyombo a huge upgrade as a small ball center over what Black can become that should have been paid 20M+) Dwight Howard!!! or body of glass Noah who wasn't coming anyway. None of them were coming and the rest were restricted.

The same came be said about a number of serviceable, solid starters out there. If you don't have that star then you could probably use an upgrade there. He doesn't add much to our win total I agree, but he does at least fill a need and does the things we need to from a starting center. We needed a solid vet like him. Solid vets aren't coming cheap.

Interesting take on NBATV that "This move had Luke Walton written all over it"
Luke coached against Mosgov in the Finals 2 years in a row & probably saw something there that he liked that could work in his system.

Yes as far as FAs go this is exactly what dumpster fire play plus dysfunctional ownership has gotten us. But gawdammit ..... look at the quality of the young players we now have assembled going forward, thanks to the dumpster fire play and sh***est Coach and greatest Tank Commander of all times.

    FA not over yet BTW.

I still might have preferred Biyombo or Mahinmi on cheaper deals, but I'm not disagreeing. When it's clear we're not getting a star in FA this is the kind of deal that happens. That doesn't mean Weezy is wrong though either. Mozgov is probably not going to be our Center when we're finally competitive again. Still, he'll serve a good purpose for now.

Well yes. Hopefully if Zubacca is the 2nd coming of Marc Gasol (Mozgov will be nothing but good for him in that regard) ..... maybe Moz starts just this year or this year and next and then moves to quality backup role the 3rd year.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking except I'm not counting on Zubac. If he gets there, great. If not, the Lakers will find their starting Center in FA around that time or trade for one.

Personally I like this move. I like the shift this represents for the FO. I like how Moz will fit in Luke's system. The money seems crazy, but welcome to the reality of the new CBA + the reality of rehabbing the franchise's brand.

Whether they wanted it to be true or not, this was a wake up call. I was absolutely afraid the Lakers would sit on their hands and just let the rejection get to them. They went and got a guy they believed in. Okay. At least they've got a plan... The last few years I really don't think they had a backup plan and the last few years is when it would have been the most helpful!

Nobody is spinning anything. We got a solid veteran. That's what we need and we'll still get a couple of more. I'm content with it. Better than wasting time with guys we don't have a chance at.

    Russia's Wilt Chamberlain?

Is that anything like China's Magic Johnson? Because now we've had both.
