Is it still possible to get down on our knees and beg and plead with Barnes to sign max with us? I've become shockingly desperate for potential over old/are what they are.hh

That would free up Moe Harkless real fast. :D

Seriously though, I've always liked Turner but had concerns about his outside shooting. It was reassuring to hear trodgers confirm earlier in the thread that he's actually a very good mid-range shooter which can still help space the floor.

10.5 points, 5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 46% from the field. Can't really ask for too much more from a sixth man wing.

I don't know where he fits though. Can he play 3? If he's a back-up 2, do we slide Lou down to 1 since it seems like Turner is sufficient at facilitating? Get rid of Lou?

If we did get Turner, I'd still want one more wing. It's cool that he's a good mid-range shooter, but I really think we need one more good to great three point shooter.

He'd be either our Iggy off the bench behind Ingram, or we'd slide Clarkson to the bench. Something like:

    Russell/Clarkson
    Turner/Williams
    Ingram/Brown?
    Randle/Nance Jr.
    Mozgov/Black

    or

    Russell/Huertas
    Clarkson/Williams
    Ingram/Turner
    Randle/Nance Jr.
    Mozgov/Black

What does Harkless do well? His numbers are underwhelming to say the least.

I guess defend? He has long reach and he had some big games in the playoffs, surprisingly decent from 3pt range in that series.

Decent all around game. His numbers last season weren't mindblowing but he's shown good promise.

A couple seasons ago before his injury he was really developing as a 3-point threat. He's only going to be 23 this year with 4 years of experience. I'd say he's what you might find if Harrison Barnes wasn't on the Warriors.

    Other recent deals:

4/28 million for DJ Augustin in Orlando.
3/36 million for Jeremy Lin in Brooklyn.

Pretty level headed analysis. Decent player got a decent deal. Nothing special, but better than Hibbert anyway.

So are we not on Parson's radar at all anymore? I'll be pretty upset if he's taking meetings with other teams in LA, and not even willing to let us buy him dinner and hear our max contract pitch.

I'm hoping someone else swoops in and takes Conley out of nowhere from Memphis, and some other teams sign big offer sheets with Portland's restricted free agents to put some pressure on them.

I mean if we're gona go "his stats suck" then we should consider Ariza's #'s when we 1st traded for him too....there's potential there with Mo, I'm not so sure with Turner anymore, 10/4/4 looks good but I dont think he's getting better, I still think Mo can get better.

Evan is definitely not going to grow much although he could hopefully add a better three to his game over time. Moe is definitely someone who can still grow as a player. I'm not sure what it would take to get him out of Portland though. If we can get Evan now I might just do it. Another uninspiring player from a name value standpoint but fills a need.

Or maybe we don't want to give him a max deal with knee concerns. I would offer it to him, but it is possible the FO is making calculated decisions and not just whiffing.

Well they're whiffing on big names. :D

But I think the moves they're making after the whiffs are calculated. Heck D'Angelo knew Clarkson was getting his contract before FA started so the Lakers have SOME kind of plan... even if it's not a plan we were all hoping for.

Search Harkless in this thread. I posted the details once or twice. He's not bad.
