Now they'll probably get roasted for it, but hey! They knew their value. They knew they were unlikely to attract a marquee FA. At least they're self aware. Six or so hours ago we weren't even sure about that.

I'm trying to think of him like Bogut. I really am.

Look, I was on board for Mosgov for months as the alternative big to sign, but even when it's the equivalent to 11m under the old cap, I still can't defend the move. I wanted to take a flyer on Mosgov, not give him Kanter cash.

I'd love Turner. Solid defensively, not a ball stopper, nice mid range and post game, and another leader to have around the young kids.

Is Turner the new Rick Fox?

    Kanter got way more! :D

    Kanter:
    16.4
    17.1
    17.9
    18.2 option

I mean literally they're similar, but Kanter's deal under the old cap is really more like 22 million in this one. He got really overpaid. We were going to have to overpay for our first FA that was always going to be the case. At least we didn't go absolutely nuts with it. He's literally getting Bogut money under this new cap.

I went to see the Purge and came back to this.

A Purge doesn't sound so bad right about now.

Oh gotcha. Well he's saying the same thing I'm saying. It's not really stats, it just shows you inflation.

This contract is worth 11 million last summer so yes he's a bit overpaid, but it's not anything really out of the ordinary. For comparison's sake Kanter got the same deal LAST summer which would be like paying him over 20 million THIS summer.

Check back in a few days and this contract will look like a steal.

Good night folks, tired of seeing so much doom and gloom.

Hopefully more activity tomorrow, which I'm sure there will be to get peoples attentions moving around instead of belaboring this signing again.

I just want a tweet to come out that says Lakers give up. I would be more relieved and could go back and not think about free agency anymore. There would be more honor in that.

Definitely, but Bazemore is quickly becoming too expensive for them. I'm sure they'll go Turner over Bazemore when Turner is going to cost 15 million and Bazemore will cost 20 million.
