Eh Mozgov can space the floor and roll to the basket. We've got so many scorers I ain't worried about his offense.

I'm more concerned with fit then price. If he can play the bogut role, I'm in. Grooming Randle for Green role? Turner=iggy, Clarkson is offense off the bench. Need a 3&d shooting guard.

Remember when we were gearing up to make a big run at Whiteside? Hm.

He'll fit decently. I'm not sure he's the kind of passer that Bogut is but he can do everything else Bogut does. He's probably a bit more effective offensively honestly.

If we sign Pau, that probably means we sign and trade Black or let him go. Not sure I like that idea, although a seasoned vet with serious Ball IQ would be great to help develop this young squad. Zubic wouldn't get much burn though.

I get your point, but my complaints were never not going after stars and passing on the Mozgovs. It was going after stars and not going hard after the Isaiah Thomases and Greg Monroes, there's a difference.

My complaint is the losing is starting eat my insides. I am just not used to losing in sports or in life. And I can't really handle it.

You're comparing to his single year with Byron though which was a big drop-off for Hibbert.

Was looking at the Vertical top 100...for Centers

    Drummond - staying in DET
Horford - not interested in Lakers
Whiteside - not interested in Lakers
    Howard - just no
Noah - wanted to go to NY

---here is where our reality started
    Biyombo
    Pichulia
    Zeller
    Mahinimi
    Mozgov

It will be interesting to see what those other 4 names get paid. Seems a lot of members preferred Biyombo. Any one else on that list.

While Mozgov doesn't excite me like Horford/Whiteside would have, I can appreciate the Lakers finally after years taking decisive action to make a decision on a player and get it done. We need a much more balanced roster before all-star talent will take us serious.

At least our young guys get to see TIMMAY get his ring when he goes back to Cleveland to play them.

Regardless of how badly we need to fill the C position by paying Moz that much that quickly we just set a standard of money for a little above average talent that will stay with us throughout the rest of free agency. Agents will say, "you gave Mozgov 16 per, you want my client = max"

    Great post and agree 100%

Whether you want to believe it or not. It's good that we got one of those center in the reality column signed. Because those other players and their agents are going to look at what we paid Mozgov and want that same amount or will likely request more now that the market as been set by those kind of Center and talent.

In other words I would much rather be in our seat then need a Center and be left with 1-2 options. Those players will have all the leverage that are remaining.

The price was a bit high. Under the old cap this would be an 11.9 million dollar deal per year. The real question is the years, 4 seems like a lot for a guy turning 30 in 2 weeks. Remember, the Jordan Hill deal looked bad too until it came out later that the second year wasn't guaranteed. We don't know if Moz has a straight-up, 4 year deal yet.
