if it's a two or three year deal for 12-14, that's fine with me. i don't like committing to the full four after he had a lackluster season. but i've been a proponent of mozgov as a fallback option (to whiteside and noah) because i believe there's still some of the guy from two years ago there.

I don't care what the cap is you don't give a guy who's at best a solid backup center 14 million. Screw that. Go get Biyumbo.

Whiteside agrees to max with Dallas.

EDIT: Nevermind. The real David Aldridge just retweeted a fake Marc Stein account...

I would pay Meyers Leonard (I know he's restricted) 15 mil and force Portland to walk away than pay Mozgov that amount. At least Meyers can grow with our core and has a higher ceiling

All the figures throwing around for these average joes are nuts! 10-20 for Baze? Get outta here.

    Timofey Mozgov
    7'1 C
    30 years old
    Projected FG%: 53%
    Projected 3pt%: 17%
    Projected FT%: 73%
    Projected PTS+AST+REB: 14.1
    Potency (pts+ast+reb/36): 24.7
    Projected Offensive Impact: -1.8
    Projected Defensive Impact: +1.0
    Projected Value over Replacement: 0.5
Verdict: Mozgov isn't a bad player; he's a borderline starter in this NBA. He can score and defend, but he rebounds inconsistently, isn't much of a passer, and isn't really a rim protector. It's hard to complain if he were signed as a backup or center by committe, however, as he is a vet with playoff experience and some game.

Better than giving Mozgov 15 million.

I'm sure he wants that, but he might well find out that that's not his value. Anyone paying Baze 20 a year is f***ing up.

At this point, I'd say he is who he is. Solid but unspectacular. Probably a 20-25 minute guy max. I guess that's really all we need from him if we keep Black and have Zoobats.

Bresnahan is talking about Batum being near, or at, the top of our FA list. Says we think he can play 2 or 3.

Would definitely make a possible Mozgov signing easier to swallow...

He's likely resigning with the Bobcats though.

From what we've been through the past few years it's better to pick up players early than swinging for the fences and striking out.
