I really don't think that means anything.

I actually think 30 wins or higher might do it for Westbrook. Remember Cleveland only won about four more and they're in a terrible Eastern Conference. I think we'd need to be on the higher end of that. Between 30-35 games. Maybe like 32-50 or even what the Cavs were which is 34-48.

The cap goes up next season so we could add Westbrook and one other guy. If the Lakers shown enough progress I could definitely see him looking at that and saying "I make this team a bonafide playoff team, maybe 45-50 wins." He's a top five player so he absolutely should feel that way. If we get one other max guy all of a sudden we're a real, real threat in the West.

If durant stays and horford comes with him to okc you can forget about this westbrook pipe dream....even without those 2 i still dont see westbrook being interested

It's absolutely crucial right now for the Front Office to show logic and patience in this upcoming free agency period.

The name of the game in this league has been and will always be VALUE in the contracts you sign. Just a week or two ago, the general consensus around here was that we shouldn't throw the max at guys like Barnes and Biyombo, because despite their undeniable talent, it wasn't good enough to justify the fraction of our cap space that they would command. Ding's ill-timed article and the fact that KD won't let us into his tea party in the Hamptons shouldn't generate a knee-jerk reaction to the point where we budge and overpay tremendously for poor value. The bottom line is if you thought it wasn't a worth while contract offer before free agency, odds are in 2 weeks it still won't be.

All that being said, if we whiff on most of the top tier players at the price we want them at (seems likely at this point), we need to play to our positives right now and sign responsible veterans on reasonable contracts to surround our promising young core and ensure their proper development.

I disagree. Look at LeBron in Miami. He came home after they just made the Finals and won the title the year before. If our young guys make enough improvement I still see it as a realistic possibility. Westbrook won't ever be the #1 guy. That will always be Durant's team. He has a chance to lead a talented, great group of young guys to the promise land and become one of the truly great Lakers.

If I'm Luke, first practice I tell the guys that no one wants to play with them and they should do everything in their power to annihilate everyone in their path. Forget about the "NOBODY BALEED IN US" speech. Save the "Everyone thinks we are failures". Just go out and annihilate everyone and anyone to the point where win or lose right now, I want the other team to feel it after the game for another day.

Wonder how our front office reacts as they keep getting denied while going down their FA list.

It should be Westbrook's team though. He's their best player for the last 2+ years.
Dude needs to be a Laker.

I would give Brandon Bass a max deal to come back to keep Boozer away.

That's up for debate. Durant is still as good as anyone player in the league outside of LeBron and Steph.

I'm about 5 pages behind and missed the part about Whiteside not wanting to meet with us. Was there speculation why after hearing we were among the favorites the past few days? The Ding piece?

DD and Horfort with Batum and Whiteside as 1B for both. I'd be happy with any combo.

At this rate we'd be lucky to just get a real shot at one of those players.

Since no one gives a flying f*** about even meeting with us, maybe we should make sure to keep Jordan first? Him going to another team would be a major blow.
