    You're not wrong. I'm also biased as a fan. Maybe because of that, or maybe just because it's reality, but I agree with you. I don't think Dallas has a great roster as currently assembled and I think we have more upside. If we got Whiteside, Parsons bolted for a max, and Dallas struck out on other free agents, I actually think we'd be better even as soon as next year:

    But from Whiteside's perspective, he might not see that. He doesn't watch Laker games, so he doesn't see the potential we see in Russell/Randle when the national media is constantly clowning on them. All he knows is that we've been losing the past few years and portrayed as a dysfunctional organization. Meanwhile, Dallas has pretty much made the playoffs every year with no real down years.

    Regardless of if its true or not, he has no reason to assume they won't continue making the playoffs and that's huge for his personal brand.

    Here's an analogy. If hypothetically, Hibbert got injured at the end of the year and we had to start Tarik Black for the last 15 games or so, and he put up a few great games (double-doubles, a few games with 5+ blocks) while we were losing regular season games ... do you think Tarik would be getting the $15 million offers that Bismack Biyombo will be getting for similarly having a good stretch in only a few high profile playoff games? I don't think so.

    Toronto: "No" --> other meetings take place

    I'm betting he gets his 4 year max deal within minutes of the 9:00 start time. That probably leaves the window open for Biyombo.

    Both would be solid additions although their contracts are a complete mystery and they wouldn't exactly help us win a bunch of games.

    And for those not on the Williams/Turner train... Can we really be choosy right now? We have to spend at least some money this summer and we have open roster spots. We're not in a position to be turning anybody away right now.

    On the plus side of all this, even striking out on all these big FAs...we have a legit coach and a legit young core. Add some solid FAs and this year is going to be pretty fun to watch with these young guys.

    Just getting caught up:

    - Whiteside - Bummer. If it comes out the stable organization report was due to Ding's article + the Buss affluenza children I'm going to be pissed and demand them removed from office. Wait I already feel that way....

    - Mozgov - He is trash. Everyone remembers his Finals two years ago, but he's been trash since and there's a reason he went undrafted, bounced around teams and CLE has no interest in bringing him back. He's garbage. I would be disappointed if we picked him up on any deal. Zubac can take his minutes.

    - Every FA being linked to the Lakers, except the top ones - What can you do? We are going to toss money at everyone and see if it sticks because the FO expects players to migrate here instead of making them want to come here. We are the leverage team, that's how it always goes.
