I like Evan Turner but I don't think he's a great fit, especially at the price we'd have to pay to pry him from Boston. No to Derrick Williams.

Can someone clarify the situation with Clarkson? Any chance he just takes the small qualifying offer, helping us out in free agency? Would that then mean he'd be an unrestricted free agent next year?

Or is he probably going to be signing offer sheets forcing us to shell out likely $10-$15 million for him on a long term deal?

Does this mean we don't have to resign Clarkson now because he's making the qualifying offer now? Sorry for my ignorance.

It means we wait for other teams to throw money at them. If they dont, they play for that money. If they do, we have the ability to match.

means he's a restricted free agent, and we can match any offer. Don't have to, but we can. Means Ryan Kelly is an unrestricted Free Agent, and it's kind of like saying we don't want you back when you have as much cap space as we do.

If mgmt tells him what they're prepared to offer and hes ok with that then he can wait and not sign any offer sheet and just signs with us after la has acquired who they needed too...but i dont think it matters, mgmt not going to use up the entire 64mill anyways imo

No even turners or derrick williams, please. We have had enough high pick busts on this team. If you are going to play guys, play the young guys and see what they got. We already know what DW and ET are about, and its not anything special.

Screw Ding man. I don't think his article is affecting free agents, but it's definitely affecting a lot of casual fans who would've probably been happy with just getting Ingram and Luke this offseason. Now I'm gonna have to put up with a lot of negative fans in my family acting like the Lakers are dead in the water when we don't end up signing anyone of note.

I thought Whiteside (aside Parsons) was our best shot, really sucks it sounds like he isn't even considering us really. Could be another long summer...

That's mediocre and Whiteside doesn't make the Mavericks a contender or anything. They don't really have much outside of Dirk and Whiteside assuming he signs there. I just don't get the appeal.

Jeezus .... Hassan .... seriously? We're looking solid and thick, more so than Dallas, if you come here.

Common theme with Miami and Dallas... no state income tax. Whiteside did say he was a businessman.

You don't get the appeal because you're biased and want him to come to LA. No offense.

They make great sales pitches and have a great coach. The Lakers have had old, dry, and tired sales pitches and unstable coaching. Now they are going to try and sell the idea that the Lakers will be Golden State lite because of rookie Coach Luke.
