Deng two years,$14m? Doubt it. We'd outbid that by far.

Salaries are so strange if this comes remotely true. Average starting wings are not worth $20m in today's NBA especially if quality bigs are often less than $10m.

I don't blame you at all. In fact, I'd rather not even pursue Whiteside whatsoever. He's a knucklehead who can't be trusted, especially as the "leader" and highest-paid player on a team that at the moment has an average age of 22 years old. Wade, Bosh, Dragic, Deng a championship coach in Spoelstra and Pat freaking Riley had to do everything in their power to keep him in line. I'm suuuuuure Whiteside will have no issues listening to...Lou Williams?

Because he is Hollywood. I just hope his knees are ok. The one positive the last year is health for all the players.

I wouldn't mind that if we don't get Whiteside. He was a solid starter for the Cavaliers last year, then got injured and never really played like that this past season. He's still not a bad option.

Yikes. I think Timofey is a decent backup big, but I'd prefer a few others and that tells me he might be our Plan D or something if/when Whiteside, Horford, and maybe Biyombo fall through...

I'd take him as a backup to one of those guys though.

Parsons is easily one of the best FAs if he is even what he was last season. I don't think he's coming cheap. And he shouldn't.

I'm not a Parsons fan and I don't like his knees, but I'm not entirely against the signing if we can also land Whiteside. Parsons provides shooting and versatility. I'm warming up to this idea despite the obvious risk.

Parsons knows the injury hurt his value. He's looking for a payday. I'd say he's the easiest one to sign in that regard. Give him guaranteed years and he'll bite.

Great, but he also has BAD knees. It seems like Dallas may be reluctant or flat out won't max out Parsons that is a bad sign because they know more than anyone about his health.

    This.

Hate to burst any bubbles, because they're fantastic players, but I fail to see the allure of the Lakers to aging guys wanting to win now like Horford & Conley.

Our sweet spot this free agency is younger vets looking to get paid. Bonus if they value the Lakers brand & LA market. That's why I could see us as a potential landing spot for Whiteside, Batum, Parsons, etc.

Specifically on Horford, he's literally being sought after by 90% of NBA teams right now. We'd have a tough time landing him if we had our 2009 supporting cast to surround him with. He's that desired on the open market right now.

I don't think Parsons is lightyears better than Bazemore though and if Bazemore is settling into the 15-17 range, then why would Parsons think he's worth more? Their numbers were extremely similar last season. Parsons was a bit more efficient, but Bazemore the better defender.
