    I'd max out Whiteside and Batum as well. I think they'd make us significantly better and really round out the team.

    But I already know I'd have to defend that move from the attack by a lot of casual fans who will be baffled seeing Batum getting $27 million.

    Basically nailed the whole reason I want Horford. Well said.

    And reports are that the Hawks don't want to give an older Horford all five years so the separation in contracts is then:

    Hawks- 115,595,290
    Lakers- 110,919,526

    We're in the ballpark if they blink on the 5th year and the other opportunities that LA provides would cover the difference. The only problem... convincing a 30 year old to sign with a group of guys that are all under 25 years old.

    Durant is meeting with the Clippers and refusing to talk to the Lakers. That's it. That's the last straw. I don't even care what we do in free agency. Fire Jim and Mitch and do is yesterday. This is a complete disgrace.

    Well, if Durant is willing to meet with Clippers, it shows that either he or his camp are idiots. Perhaps we dodged a bullet :)

    Maybe... but I also think that the league, and the mentality of the players in this league has changed. The pressure to win a championship (otherwise you're labeled a failure) is so great, that players are just chasing the ring at this point... going to the team that'll give them the best chance of getting that ring. I don't have a doubt that once we start making the playoffs again, we'll get those players that'll want to push us over the top.

    Yeah, I love his game, too. He's also a very good PNR defender. He just freaking fits; he also has such a perfect disposition to mesh with Los Angeles and our team.

    Have there even been any reports suggesting we have interest in Parsons? I don't think we're going after him unless we strike out on all our other targets. Him flying to LA doesn't mean anything.
