f*** Ding and Jeanie. He's making her out to be some kind of victim in this. Get the the f*** over yourself Jeanie. Phil sucks as a president. Have you seen what he's done in New York? He has overpaid for Carmelo, traded their only good players on the roster for basically nothing, pretty much the only good thing he's done is the Porzingis trade. I only read about half the article before I closed it. It's ridiculous how biased both of them are against Jim. Why air out the dirty laundry? Don't you love the Lakers Jeanie? Why the hell are you doing this? This is the worst possible time to leak something like that. Why can't you just shut the f*** up? Ultimately with free agents we probably didn't have a shot at Durant or Horford anyway. I still think we have a shot at Whiteside simply because he wants to get paid. He's made very little money in his career and that'll change this summer. Still don't see the point of this BS. Just shut your mouth Jeanie, get the f*** out if you can't. You're ruining this franchise.
And am I the only one that can't understand why the article would bring up Mitch's 15-year old daughter passing away in the light it did? I read that as a legit shot at how Mitch handled his CHILD PASSING AWAY. You can't grant him some quiet grieving on that one, Jeanie? Beyond ridiculous.
I feel jim is the least qualified exec in the league today in regards to his credentials and education lvl
Seriously you're glad this is resurfacing? Really? It absolutely hurts us. It shows how divided the front office is and how big of an idiot Jeanie is. I find it hilarious how you're killing Jim and saying how he's so incompatent yet he's the one who is staying out of the way. He's let Mitch make trades, make draft picks, allowed him to hire Luke. Jeanie was the one for fought for that idiot Byron Scott. Why would you tell the world you didn't know about the firing? She's the one who gave Kobe that idiotic contract extension. She's the one who keeps pressing to bring Phil back even though he's proven nothing as president. Except well he sucks. Definitely worse than Jim.
What does this even mean? Is someone forcing you to click on it and read it? I had no idea it was posted in the FA thread. Either way, it is own thread-worthy. Not a fun topic, but one that continues to affect this team at a core level.
Somebody put the Buss kids back in their timeout chairs until they can learn to play nice. Seriously grow the f*** up, you are running one of, if not THE greatest franchise in sports history, act like it you spoiled brats. This isn't a fight over who gets the last cookie, this is a billion dollar business that everyone from players, coaches, fans, etc put a lot of time/money/effort into. I don't even care who is right or wrong in this situation, this honestly is immature children stuff at the end of the day. Shut the eff up, quit crapping on the Laker brand or GTFO. Simple as that. Spoiled petty little rotten kids man. So frustrating to read before FA.
Yeah, with Jim on this management team the last 10 years all we did was win 2 titles, retain Kobe Bryant at every opportunity, draft Bynum over Sean May, trade Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol, trade for Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, and Steve Nash. What a bum.
I really love this website. The people here provide me with a ton of insight I don't have and supply information I don't have the time and/or ability to obtain myself. I don't post a lot but I come here all day to see what people like you are saying. But as far as I can tell, it's the only place on Earth where people actually defend Jim Buss.
I re-read the article with the point of view that Jeanie was saying it and it made me cringe. Oh boohoo. Are we supposed to feel sorry for you? This almost sounds like a teenager going through puberty. Uh ok. Sure. Whatever you say, Jeanie. What...the...hell? Are you serious? I just... Maybe Jeanie has been the problem this entire time.
There's more to running a team and building for the future than making the splashy trades. Believe it or not, that's the easy part. Making the smaller trades, stockpiling draft picks and making sure valuable assets don't leave for nothing is the harder part. Being able to sell prospective free agents on your ability to build a contender around them is the hardest part. On those points, Jim has utterly failed at every turn. But it's also kind of ironic the way that people keep citing the Howard trade as one of Jim's accomplishments, when Howard bolted from the team at the first opportunity.
