Ah, so I guess the problem is that they don't have Biyombo's Bird rights. Otherwise they'd be able to sign both players simultaneously, yes?

I liked parson but considering his injury and even at his best he's a 3rd banana is he really deserving of 25+ mill a yr? His injury is also going to put him on min restrictions as well. Also why arent we getting a meeting with kd even if chances are slim? Even those donks clips are getting one and they dont even have cap space as of now

It's up to him who to meet with and apparently we're not on the list. Surprising and a little insulting, but that's okay. We have a chance then to go focus on more reasonable and attainable players. If KD doesn't want to come here, we'll just have to show him why he's wrong.

How would everyone feel if we strike out on all those "top" FAs again?

It'd be tough, but we're in a good enough place now where I'd shrug it off easier than the last few years. We all know we're not competing for the playoffs next season. This season will be about watching the young guys grow and I'm okay with that.

Sam Amick reporting that DeRozan is basically keeping the Lakers on the line just in case Toronto says or does something he doesn't like. Toronto far and away the leader to retain DeRozan, but the Lakers will sign him if he'll come.

I wouldn't be that disappointed. We're still a team on the rebound with young players.

I would understand that a veteran might not want to join us for that reason.

I want players who want to be here. Who can take on the challenges of being in the Hollywood limelight. If they can't, they're not worth of the purple and gold.

Thank god we struck out on Melo. Aldridge is one of those players who saw a better situation in SA, who can blame him?

I'm torn on DeRozan. I like the idea of a young All-Star caliber 2-guard being added to our roster. That makes Clarkson a really strong 3rd guard 6th man, which I think is his role long term.

However, DeRozan's J isn't great, and our floor spacing would be concerning if we trotted out a Russell-DeRozan-Ingram-Randle-Whiteside (for the sake of this example) starting lineup.

At the end of the day, I'll take the influx of talent that we desperately need, then worry about fit later, but he's a bit less than ideal.

Id rather just max out Barnes....at least we know his d is respectable, something dd hadn't proven after all these yrs.

Yeah I'm in and I'll let Luke figure out how to space the floor. Screw it. We need the talent and if he makes us better right away (which he undoubtedly does) then give me that guy. I'd rather spend my max there than say Parsons.

Disappointed considering rumors that teams are basically just laying out plans for 2017 during their pitch as kd is expected to do a 1+1 to co-term with westbrook...i think we can offer those 2 a chance to be together if he'd hear mitch out

I'm with you. I think it's a little weird we haven't even been given a meeting, but whatever. Let's go get Whiteside and figure out what to do with our other 30 million dollars.

You can't really say definitively; but rumors are Portland and Dallas so far.
