Im glad we're not on KD's list, honestly. Anyways, if he signs with GS, he's a bigger p**** than Bronnie ;).

I think Whiteside and some veteran role players that play defense with high characters is all we need. Our leader will be Luke Walton that's what he gets paid for to handle the immature ones

Miami vs LA as currently put together....

    Dragic (15.9) / Johnson (1.2 QO)
    Wade (20) / Richardson (1)
    Winslow (2.6) /
    Bosh (23.7) / McBobs (5.8)
    Whiteside (22) /

    4 cap holds - 2

    Total - 94 million.......0 cap space

    DAR (5.3) /
    JC (2.8 QO) / Lou (7)
    Ingram (4.4) / Brown (1)
    Randle (3.3) / Nance (1.2)
    Whiteside (22) / Black (1.2 QO) / Zubac (1)

    3 cap holds - 1.5
    Young stretched - 2.2

Total - 52.9 million......41.1 million in cap space left

    Miami
    - Wade will be 35 next season
    - Does Bosh play again?
    - Heat MIGHT be better next season if all goes perfect, but long run?
    - Still getting benched and have same role
    - No room to improve team

    LA
    - All young and on the upswing in terms of NBA development
    - Better long term outlook
    - Increased role w/ increased responsibility to lead the team
    - Still 41 million to improve team, who do you want to play with?
    - Ball out on this contract, another one will follow behind it

I mean that cHeat roster isn't looking like anything special to stick around with and that's with the Lakers goggles off.

    Whiteside and Parsons please.

Parsons would fit well in the system. Good shooter, passer and can play the 3 or 4. He started off slow coming off the micro fracture surgery, but from January on he really picked it up until the meniscus injury which isn't that serious.

Whiteside for his rim protection, PnR finishing ability on offense would be awesome. His PnR defense is concerning though and he's not a good passer -29 assists in 73 games ouch!

To be expected. I for one would love to go after Iggy. I know he's on the downside of his career but is the right type of veteran leader I'd like to see around these young guys. He's likable, a winner, been in big games and can settle the guys down in pressure games. Plus help teach them the new offense Luke will be instilling. If GS aggressively goes after Durant he could be an attainable signing.

Oh and yes please to Whiteside. Of of the free agents he's the one I want the most.

Nothing we didn't already know, but we sure as hell will have a shot at Durant next offseason.

This franchise is on life support as far as free agency. They have got to score someone of substance this summer to stunt the momentum. At this point Lou Williams is the biggest free agent they've had in years. What the hell is going on? Summer is still young, no pun intended. Ha

I don't want anything to do with the dude he's played one full season in the NBA by the age of 27 and that was only 73 games. I didn't like his play in the playoffs and don't like his attitude. The dude couldn't hack it in sac and didn't even play in the league for 2 years. Theres got to be better guys out there for the Lakers to go after.

I'm with you. I'll probably get some opposition toward this, but I'd max Parsons. There will be an amnesty clause when the new CBA is negotiated, so if he blows out a knee, we can amnesty him. Max Whiteside, too. If not Whiteside, I'd max Biyombo. We need to get better this year. I'm not into organic growth. I love our core, but I refuse to wait 3-4 years to contend. I'm not saying to 'trade' them; but with the money we've accumulated for this offseason, we must add veteran talent and start the climb upward in wins.

    Spend the money, Mitchell.

I could see maxing Parsons, too. He's better than Wes Matthews, and Wes got a s***load of $ coking off a serious injury.

Better guys like who? A legit argument could be made Whiteside is the second or third best free agent we could realistically get. DeRozan sounds like he's staying put in Toronto. After that it's Whiteside, Horford, Batum, Bazemore, Conley. There's no way else that money would be better spent than an elite rim protector, rebounder, a great screen and roll partner for D'Angelo and Jordan, and a perfect fit in Los Angeles.

Did Whiteside play great in the playoffs? No, but he wasn't terrible either. He had some big games and some not so big games, but he also got hurt. The dude has been one of the best centers in basketball for two seasons now. Is there a chance Whiteside could fall off after signing a max deal? Sure, but the same is true of pretty much any free agent that you sign to a max contract. The Lakers need to take that chance. Whiteside is basically an All Star and another young core member for this team.

I like Parsons, but not a fan of giving him the max with the injury history. Also with drafting Ingram we don't really need a small forward. Yes we need talent, but throwing that much cash at someone so brittle when we already added a stud SF just doesn't make much sense to me. I'd rather add someone like Dudley off the bench and a solid veteran.
