I'd like an over the hill backup C to provide experience. Platoon him, Black, and Zubac. We can still go small with Randle or Nance.

That's why the Hawes and Ariza dumps are so appealing.

Especially if we can grab a pick or two with them. We're likely to lose our pick in 2017 and we're either going to lose our 2019 pick or our 2017 and 2018 2nd rounders. I know we have a young squad already, but I like having assets.

Man I'd love to have Ariza back. He can start or back up Ingram, he can still score, hit threes, defend, he still has that heart of a champion. Don't want Parsons though.

You could grab 1.5 starters for <14m total.

There are so many nice dump candidates....I'll take Ariza and Beverley in a heartbeat if they take Lou Williams off our hands....

I can't come in this thread. The mere mention of Ariza sends tingles up my legs.

Ariza is only 30 and has been relatively healthy... Question is how he feels all these years after the 2009 swap with Artest when Laker brass let him go. I know this though...Walton is smart enough to this day to let him start. :)

    Hawes...Black...Zubac.

I like Lou. He's a solid sixth man on a decent contract.

But I worry about him. If he's one of the only vets on our teams, I worry that he feels entitled to a large role. His iso game detracts from the development of everyone else.

Reading around other teams' sites, everyone is like, "We'll get Conley and Whiteside if we don't get Durant."

Even teams that don't have cap.

I think we're mostly speculating on who could be out there, but they've got a bunch of wings right now and could probably use a trade to free up space. They've got Brewer and McDaniels who can hold down the fort at SF along with Sam Dekker. Ariza at 7 million is probably a good dump candidate.

Also Sam Hinkie West likes ditching good assets so he can swing for the fences in FA.

i'm guessing he wants to ditch brewer and beverly, and not ariza.

yeah, our outlandish expectations are not abnormal. only a handful of teams will be lucky enough to get one of the high caliber FAs (durant, conley, horford, derozan, whiteside). in fact, i'd bet on most--it not all--of that list staying put. none of their teams seem interested in letting them walk at any price.

That's fine though. Should those guys stay, there's still other players that will make this team better. I would prefer Horford or Noah but if the Raptors re-sign DeRozan for the max then we can cherry pick Biyombo for something less than the max. He may be best served as a backup Center, but he'd give us a great boost of energy.

If the Warriors end up closing in on Durant, we'll be able to snag someone like Iguodala off their scrap heap.

There's a lot of avenues forward for us. I also wouldn't be surprised if we end up taking someone like Brook Lopez from the Nets in a salary dump.

but don't the nets have as much space as us? seems unlikely that they'd want to dump lopez.

i just hope the FO is ready to move quickly on the second tier guys, perhaps as soon as midnight.

Not quite as much, but if they're dumping Thad Young I don't see why they're holding on to Brook Lopez. They traded Young for a 20th pick. Lopez is probably worth Anthony Brown or something.

I wouldn't mind Lopez. He was my choice for FA center last year. Maybe we can send Nick Young as garbage for garbage type of trade.
