Where are you guys seeing that?

And to be honest we'd likely have to offer close to max (short-term) to get him here too.

If I were Noah, I'd take it without blinking. Cash is cash... Washington is not too bad.

According to sources, the Wiz are locked in on making a major offer to Joakim Noah. The Wizards are said to be willing to offer Noah, coming off shoulder surgery that KO’d him in January, a full maximum contract. His deal would start at $28 million and reach around $120 million over four seasons.

Well his number starts closer to 26-27 million so that source sounds dumb.

But hey! If Joakim gets a full max contract, all power to him. Go get your money man. Stupid move by the Wizards and I'm not sure how he fits there, but good for him. I'll wait until I see it before saying goodbye to one of my highly coveted players.

If the Mavs are successful, assuming Conley and Whiteside get max contracts as widely expected, they would not have the cap space required to keep Parsons. Dallas is willing to take the risk of Parsons committing to another team as the Mavs pursue Conley and Whiteside, who sources say have mutual interest in the team. The Mavs expect to open free agency by meeting with Whiteside.

The Mavs, according to sources, remain interested in keeping Parsons if they aren't able to persuade Conley and/or Whiteside to come to Dallas. However, the Mavs have made it clear to Parsons that they do not intend to offer him a max contract to keep him after his first two seasons in Dallas ended prematurely because of surgeries on his right knee.

A max contract for Parsons with the Mavs, who own his early Bird rights, would be worth $98.4 million over four years. Other teams can offer him $94.1 million over four years.

"It's a question of dollars and injury status," Dallas president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said when asked about the possibility of re-signing Parsons during exit interviews before the Mavs had homed in on Conley and Whiteside.

Parsons, 27, had hybrid microfracture surgery on the knee in spring of 2015, and the rehab from that operation lasted well into the 2015-16 season. The arthroscopic operation Parsons underwent this spring to address a torn meniscus in the knee wasn't nearly as serious as the previous surgery.

Sources say multiple renowned orthopedic specialists have given Parsons clearance to resume full basketball activities and expressed optimism that his knee would not prevent him from having a long, productive NBA career.

The move does not make sense I agree but it would be difficult for Noah to say no to that kind of bread given he is at the twilight of his career. Yes, NBA GM's can be impulsive...to their organization's detriment.

By the way, if you're unwilling to give anybody a long-term deal while we're waiting for Ingram to develop, I do think Morey will listen to offers on Ariza; I also think GS will listen to offer on Iggy, IMO. Shorter-term options that give you time to develop Ingram and give you flexibility contractually to both Ariza and Iggy.

Precisely. If he can get that kind of money, I hope he takes it. I'm not willing to offer him nearly that much money and I'd never ask him to sacrifice 40 million to come play with a bunch of kids instead of ready-made products.

I'd take Ariza. I'm not sure what we could trade for him though. If he's a dump candidate then I'm all in. I'm even more all in on Iggy who WILL be a dump candidate if the Warriors make a serious run at Durant.

I'd absolutely love to be the team that scooped up Andre Iguodala. Fits the system obviously, is a great character guy, and would be just a tremendous role model for Ingram.

Iguadala has the ring so I'm sure as much as he'd like another one...he'll probably be more than happy to be the elder statesman on our crew. To some players, bringing along the next generation the proper way is some accomplishment for them if they already achieved what many have not. That and they are still getting paid handsomely than most working folks...

I hope so! I'd love for him to be here to help Luke along. I think Iggy has some game left in him. He could really be a catalyst to help push this group forward. Iggy was instrumental in changing things for Golden State and I'd love for him to be able to do that here. I remember wishing we could pair he and Kobe way back when, but I'd love for him to come here and groom our next stars.

Iggy definitely still has some game in him. he looked great in these playoffs until he tweaked his back. i've dealt with back issues like that and it can make any man move like their 80 years old. if Iggy is available then I'd love to nab him.

...I'm also on the same thoughts regarding Afflalo who is only 30. Check on Horford though Hawes at only 28 I find to be an intriguing prospect as well at an even lower price. We do have young men who are maturing but when the season drags on and things aren't as rosy, a group of steady, veteran leaders will really help maintain focus and keep them working. Who knows...we might win even more than we should making it more fun for everyone involved.

This is what I'm saying about that Noah rumor. If the guy can't even get the numbers right, then how can we trust his rumor? I'll believe a full max for Noah when I see it.

According to a source, Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons will have a variety of options in free agency this summer, as the Mavs spend their time likely focusing on other targets first.

Parsons will be pursued by the Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Los Angeles Lakers, the source says, once free agency opens up on July 1st.

The source wouldn't rule out a possible return to the Mavericks by Parsons, but the expectation is that Mavericks owner Mark Cuban won't want to pay Parsons the max contract he wants, due in large part to the injury woes that Parsons has suffered during his time in Dallas.

The Magic and Lakers both appear to have the cap room to offer Parsons the max offer he covets. It would appear that the Clippers do not. How they fit into this proposed scenario is unclear, given that reality.

Parsons signed with the Mavericks in the summer of 2014, on a three-year, $46 million deal. The third year carried a player option, which Parsons has opted out of, becoming a free agent this offseason.

The Mavericks are expected to pursue point guard Mike Conley and center Hassan Whiteside during this free agency period. They also need to resign Dirk Nowitzki.

Free agency officially opens on July 1st, and the shortened free agency moratorium ends on July 6th this year. Last year, it extended until the 8th.

I wouldn't really say it was a lesson learned per se. If you watch the press conference, Mitch mentions that they didn't really have anything else to sell free agents on so they had to lean on the Hollywood side of things. He said that they had too many question marks like Kobe's health and how Julius would return from his broken leg. Now we have a talented young team, new coach and enough room for multiple free agent contracts.
