No offense taken at all man. I understand the request, but it takes a staff member to update it daily, and honestly, even though there are lots of us, doing that daily becomes a job. I'm not asking any of them to do that, and I'm not committing to doing it daily myself. I think its better to be realistic about it and direct rather than make commitments and claims I don't really think I can commit to.

Regarding the other request for the tweets, I can look into moving the Twitter up on the page so tweets are more prominent. Does that sound good?

Perhaps if you can train me a little, I wouldnt mind helping out due to extra time I have on my hands in the mornings. But yeah moving Twitter feed(Are all the Laker players in there?) maybe perhaps right UNDER "Recent Threads" would be a great fit and fill the empty area/space IMO. Thanks for listening, all im doing is simply trying to make the website the most efficient as possible for everyone to have the best possible experience! :)

I appreciate the offer SF, but I want to keep the updating to staff. Too many pitfalls and things to worry about when you have more members doing things around the site. too many cooks in the kitchen even if it is for small things.

I'll discuss the suggestion of moving the Twitter up on the page with staff, and check to make sure all the Lakers are on it. The thing is some Lakers just plain don't post much on Twitter even though I follow them.

Ok, the Twitter feed has been moved up on the sidebar in all themes.

Why all the banner ads? Thought we moved away from that because cl was littered with that and lonely women spam attractors.

Well, it's just 3 ads that are spaced fairly far apart from one another. None of them feature any adult content, and Barnstable needs some form of offsetting the cost to run the forum.

LB is free for you guys, but it's not for me. I paid for the forum program, multiple addons, and upgraded server hosting/management every month. Even the addons that were free have branding that has to be paid for to remove (Check it out at the bottom left of the page for example). I'm not saying that to complain, just giving some insight as to why forums like this, and really most forums have some kind of ads on their pages to try to offset costs.

The ads just being there support LB and even more so when someone clicks on an ad. I haven't received a cent from ad revenue as of yet, but eventually as we get more members the goal is for the ad revenue to pay for the site without any out of pocket from me.

As long as there are no redirects to porn sites, Asian call girls on the side of the screen or ads that auto-run, I don't think it's a problem. Every site you go to has ads, CL made it so the ads were embarrassing and inappropriate, this is nothing more than a minor eye sore that I haven't really even noticed to be honest.

I use Google adSense which doesn't have any of that bull**** specifically because I won't tolerate any of that crap on LB.

Google might not pay as much as other ad companies, but we never have to worry about any of those ad problems you described on CL. My guess is that CL is using a company that pays out more, but you get all those problems as a result.

Over 5 months in and nothing but great, fun and really damn intelligent Lakers talk with no one trolling. Visually and ergonomically simply the best. Awesome!

Not you but LGL, under his new LB name didn't last long here. He seems rarely to even post at CL any more. Maybe he finally had that team assignment "procedure" done and found a Clippers only forum. If there is such a thing.

I still drop in once in awhile but it is really slow over there now. The next day after Clarkson's coming out party against Memphis no one had even acknowledged it yet, so I did.

I haven't been to CL in forever.

I love this site and I'm happy every day to be a part of it.

So glad you guys like it here.

I still have quite a bit to do to improve the site and unfortunately keep having more personal delays in starting, but I haven't forgotten the smiles and such

Hey I just discovered something odd when using my cell phone. At the bottom of the page, on an active horizontal field is the nice option to click and be taken back to the same forum, or to change which forum you're in. Just like similar field at the top of the page. Handy. The way it should be.

BUT, only if my color scheme is Sunday Whites or Road Purple. If I have Lakers Nights or Lakers Home Gold chosen, that active field is not there.?? When it's there it is right above the small active button on the left side you click that says the color scheme you're on and when clicked it brings up all 4 options to choose from.

When I am on my Mac Pro at home l have been assuming it just is not there at the bottom, which while being no big deal, is a semi PITA. I have to scroll all the way to the top to access it again. Now when I get home tomorrow I'm going to check to see if it's color scheme related as it is on my cell, with white and purple schemes having the field at the bottom actually for changing or continuing the forum I'm on.

The Nights and Gold themes were created from the same template that I purchased, so it's most likely a difference of how the original designer wanted to set things up. I can add that bottom jump bar to those templates, but I will have to hunt for the code to add it, and right now I'm in Vegas for the week. I'll be able to tackle adding that when I get back home.

Barns, cool ..... thanks. Yes I just confirmed on hotel where I am's big iMac like all-in-one Dell PC setup. Same thing. No active field for same forum or change forum at the bottom with Lakers Home Gold or Lakers Nights. At home I am usually on the Gold. On my phone it's the Whites. Do love ALL the color schemes though. Purple is beautiful and Lakers Nights is hot, but a little harder to read than the other 3.

Good luck in Vegas if you play around with the games or machines at all!!
