I ran the numbers. Marvin Williams looks good statistically at the SF, less good at the PF, but I still don't like the positional fit. Would much rather find a SG who can play SF in a pinch.

We're going to pay Williams 10M+ to be a backup SF? Or we're going to make the #2 pick in the draft play 15 minutes a game?

Honestly, I think we should pick up Sasha to play backup SF.

    Russell / ______
    Clarkson / Williams
    Ingram / ______
    Randle / Nance
    _____ / Black

I think we need a starting 5, a back-up 2/3, a back-up 1 who doesn't expect too much playing time since Clarkson and Williams will also get some spot minutes there, and a back-up 4/5.

    Biyombo / Noah / Horford / Whiteside
    Bazemore / Afflalo / Henderson
    Cole / Felton / Augustine / Huertas
Draft another big man with our second rounder.

PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN!!! I would subscribe to the New York Times and New York Post just to follow a team ran by Phil that has Rose, Melo and Duh-wight on it. The after game locker room interviews...

Noah and Afflalo or Deng would be a fantastic off-season for us. I wouldn't mind another bigger name obviously, but Noah, Afflalo, and maybe another backup big would be just amazing.

    Russell/Clarkson/Huertas
    Clarkson/Williams
    Ingram/Afflalo/Zipser (2nd rounder)/A. Brown
    Randle/Nance Jr.
    Noah/Mahinmi/Black

That'd be a blowout summer for us. Holy cow.

^That line-up would be very competitive... Sneak up on opponents early on but after establishing cohesion they won't be easy pickings for anyone. Not sure on Huertas as a back-up point even if Russell gets the lion's share at the position. Then again, Walton could have Clarkson run the point in a pinch.

Yeah my point is to have Clarkson/Russell on the floor almost at all times. Huertas just comes in to give them a breather. Huertas would be our poor man's version of Barbosa: just there to come in and keep the defense honest.

He was making more than MLE under the old cap. He's going to make at least 10m. Right?

I think that versatility is a good thing, but we don't need a 3/4. Backup 3/4? Okay. Starting 2/3? Sure. I think it's too much money to spend on those slots.

Just my thoughts. (Or are they?)

I just don't think I could enjoy watching Noah, as much as I respect his game, cause I'd spend the whole time worrying about injuries.

Lakers know how to find some bigs with such great names.

Detroit is home for him. SVG is great with bigs. That's tough to compete with if he's not chasing rings. I think Dwight goes back to Orl. But I'm glad we're making a play for him. He'd be a great addition in the locker room and on the court.

Going home is a little overrated. I'm not sure all these guys are eager to rush home. He IS however a great fit next to Drummond and they'd compete in the East.

He hit on 36% of his threes, still takes care of the ball, rebounds at a good rate, defends, and knows how to play the kind of role Luke will be looking for. He's absolutely not the front line starter that some of you are looking for, but we don't need that at the 3. We will soon have Ingram.

I'd take some other dudes, too, but Sasha seems like an obvious fit to me - on the cheap.

This is something I can get behind. Assuming we miss out on KD, Derozan, Whiteside and Horford of course. Would prefer Deng over Afflalo though and we could probably offer him a lot of money but he might be ring chasing.

I think we're going to pull Whiteside. He sees the age creeping up all around him there and has big a** alligators, snakes and bugs to worry about in FL while the Lakers all of a sudden are looking bright, shiny, talented, "thick" and "tight".
