If you ever wonder whether fans are out of touch with reality on this site, just go to another Lakers site.

After hearing the cap increased to 94m, a fan on one website suggested we assemble the following team:

    Russell/DJ Augustin/Huertas
    Clarkson/Williams/Young
    Durant/Ingram/Brown
    LeBron/Randle/Nance
    Ezeli/Hammons/Black

Wow. Both Durant and LeBron while still paying enough for Ezeli and Augustin. I like it.

By the way if the Cavs win this series, there'll be chatter about LeBron going to LA. You better believe it! The hot topic rumor is he wants to win a ring for Cleveland then go somewhere warmer if he can. That's coming from Woj himself.

Yeah I'm hearing he wants to play with the likes of Chris Paul and Anthony. Which could give rise to the possibility of him joining the Clippers. I can then see the Clippers trying to flip Griffin to New York for Carmelo giving him another super team to play around with.
For us I don't really see James joining a rebuilding Lakers team except maybe if he convinced Durant to sign here too. I know the front office will pursue those two with a vengeance given the opportunity but I don't know...to me the chances of that happening are slim and none and as Chick used to say "slim left the building". Besides, I'm kind of enjoying this rebuilding phase now that we have a more competent coaching staff and an exciting prospect to look forward to in the draft. And I wouldn't want James coming here trying to pull another "Wiggins for Love" trade.

There's really no way financially to make it work with the Clippers. It'd be the Lakers whether we want to think about it or not.

Hopefully they lose tomorrow so it's not an issue.

Me neither. He's really showing everything I feared about him in the Finals. Just see a lot of aggravation in our future watching him pull these disappearing acts.

If that DA for a top 5 pick is true, that's also crazy. DA, Ingram, and Simmons could be three of the top four players in the last two drafts. You can't trade him for a pick.

They can make a trade to a team with cap room without taking anything back after the cap goes up. Likely? No, but still possible.

But so unlikely as to be impossible. It's possible in the same way that's it's possible we sign LeBron and Durant and Kobe comes out of retirement and Jeb Bush gets elected president and I invent a new dish soap. It's all possible, but so unlikely that it really isn't even a consideration.

hmmm...i don't know. the clips have paul and jordan each under contract at about 22 per, then griffin at 20, redick at 7 (expires after next year), and pierce at 3ish (may retire?). redick and griffin could be dumped without any problem; in fact, each would bring back an asset. they could also be moved for players they desire.

this is all assuming they need to keep jordan, too. a creative GM could roll the clippers' entire roster over into a super team this summer, imo. lebron/paul/melo seems possible--but it could mean moving jordan and griffin for less proven players on smaller deals.

anyway, i think it's probably more likely than lebron coming to the lakers at this point.

No matter who we argue back n forth on who the Lakers should nab, that's a lot of cheddar to make multiple moves at once to make big things happen. Not many teams can say that or if their plans fall through they don't have 5 young studs to fall back on.

Maybe not this year (with trade this year is possible) but he can sign a 1 + 1 and form the super-clippers next year.

I wasn't excited about either to be honest. I started warming up to the idea briefly but the playoffs confirmed my worse fears about them. Pass. Both played their way out of tons of money in the postseason
