All hearing about all these other workouts and players I've never heard of before does is make me nervous we can still screw up the 2nd pick. Even Simmons and Ingram are no guarantees, my hope is that they are Wiggins and Parker and that one of them isn't Beasley or Derrick Williams, that always scares me. As for Brown, he's not gonna be a good shooter with that Shumpert hair, "shave your head and go to sleep".

It's called due diligence. It would be foolish if the Lakers just worked out Ingram and nobody else. What if the Sixers take him then what are we gonna do? What if him and Simmons both have huge red flags? That's something that does happen. The Lakers have to workout as many prospects as they can just to protect themselves.

Skal looked like he was geeking out. He was probably the only one who seemed like a kid, just really excited.

Jaylen's interview was great. Sounds like a smart, confident kid. He reminds me a ton of Stanley Johnson.

@Weezy I think this is still due diligence, but the last couple days there's been some rumblings about trading down. I still doubt we go with anyone besides Ingram (barring some unforeseen issue with Ingram), but interesting to see these kids coming through here.

Oh I'm well aware of this, I'm just venting my own nervousness and wishing the draft would get here already. Also wishing Simmons would do some private workouts, don't know what he's got to hide. This is a huge pick for us, back to back #2 picks can put us on the path back to greatness, or set us back years if we mess up. I've had my mind set on Simmons or Ingram, and I was pretty good with Hield or a trade if we got #3, but seeing this expand our into a many player competition, gets me nervous.

I don't actually have a problem with these guys' hair, I'm still joking based off of that hair makes you a bad shooter YouTube video that's going around. On the surface it seems ridiculous, yet the evidence presented is compelling. Still, I don't see hair holding back a truly great player from being great, so I joke. Kobe had his coming out party when he still had the 'fro.

I'm pretty sure our scouting department keeps this information on workouts and interviews for years in case a guy becomes available that they thought highly of.

Some guy might unexpectedly go undrafted and we can scoop him up for pennies.

Or buy an additional pic or trade for one if we really like what we see.

    Good point.

Ya might as well work out everyone. It's not like there's much else going on for the Lakers right now.

Skal has drawn some recent comparisons to Frye. If that's your ceiling, you have no business going in the top 5.

I'm glad we're not at 3 this year. Because if we were to keep the pick (unlikely as rumors suggested) at that slot, I have no idea who I'd take. 3-6 seems very close to me. An argument could be made for Brown, Hield, or Dunn. Sorry, Bender ain't it.

yeah, after the top two, it gets murky. recipe for regret. i mean history says there's a good chance one of them (or someone lower) is better than ingram or simmons, but finding that guy ahead of time is a neat trick.

My pick is likely Brown, but I'm very biased in favor of athletic wings.

I don't think his ceiling is Frye. I'm not sure his ceiling is well defined. Frye is probably his floor honestly which probably doesn't exactly help his argument.

Don't be like Alex. There might be silent letters, but there aren't many invisible letters. Be kind. Add the final -s after singular possessives, even if they end in -s. It ain't "Kansas' XYZ" just like it ain't "Travis' book." It's "Travis's" and it's "Kansas's." Carry on.
