yeah, and it's sort of transparent cheerleading/recruiting. his argument didn't even really center on murray, he basically said if you have the number 1 overall, draft a calipari guy, citing anthony davis, towns, and derrick rose as examples. great logic there, coach.
i like roy as a person, and as a placeholder type center. i guess i could imagine a world in which he was retained and played 15-20mpg as a starter (on a really low salary). would be way down on my list of options, though. anyway, back to the thread: i'm curious to see what the vibe is coming out of the meeting/workout. will #2 be locked up like #1 seems to be? word was the lakers were impressed in their first interview with ingram, right?
Strange regarding the Skal workout. I know we don't won't to leave a stone unturned. A year ago he was in consideration for the top pick this year...then the season happened. Personally I see his range from 10-16 depending on workouts.
If I saw him coming towards me in a full length black hooded robe with a scythe in his hands I'd s*** my pants. Kidding. Kind of. I really want this kid in LA, he's 18, he'll fill out in time.
Mr. Ingram, Welcome to the Los Angeles Lakers. Your journey starts now. Your journey to get to the patheon of great Lakers. The Jerry West's of the world, the Kobe and Magic and Kareem's, they all started right where you are. This is your time. This is your opportunity. Don't waste it because you likely won't get another one. You've got a chance to lead a young group of guys and either be the main steed or a huge focal point for a former champion and lead them back to the promise land. It starts with eating, getting heavier, getting stronger, refining your skills, honing your work ethic, and becoming the best version of yourself that you can be. Don't try and be your best, Be your best. Period. No excuses.
^Ingram looking up to George Gervin and deflecting comparisons to Durant. Well...at one time Durant himself was compared to Gervin even with a nickname of Young Ice.
