If you look at my big balls plan, you might see where we disagree. If trading down came with additional assets to help win now, and major needs were addressed through FA, it's not far fetched at all. We're not going to the Western Conference Finals next year regardless. It's also unrealistic to think a 19 year old 6'9" 165 lb boy will help our team transform into a winner this year. Any lottery pick is most likely going to be a project for a number of years. People seem to get hung up on thinking of taking Bender at 2, but I never said that. Although the 2 could be traded for an All Star, that is not the only approach possible. And you said asinine. That hurt.
Pft. We don't want to get caught up in the minutia of what you actually proposed. We just want to grab a small slice of what you said and blow it out of proportion and take it completely out of context. After all, it is an election year.
Hey speaking of thick ..... who else here looks at the muscles he's already got going and thinks maybe he winds up bigger than Durant in his upper body in his prime?
i think it's possible he ends up stronger in the upper body than durant. he'll need some of that, too, as his release isn't as quick nor are his ballhandling and finishing as strong as when durant's when he came out.
And then you see a photo like that and he looks like a stick. I trust the shirt off look. No .... h .... you know.
I don't care too much about his upper body although some size is obviously a good thing. What's really important is how light he is in his back pocket. He needs to hit the squat rack like his career depends on it because it probably does.
For real. If i was serious about playing ball, i would hit the gym 4-5 times a week since the age of 16 . I know they're kids but still, no need to play "catch up" with the big boys. Give yourself an equal start or at least try to shrink the gap.
The problem is a lot of these kids are still growing. I'm sure Ingram eats a lot but he might not be able to put on weight if he tries. His body has to mature a little bit first and then it'll come. I'm also guessing he hasn't lifted a bunch really in his life though. I thought I remember reading he really did his first serious lifting in college.
Anybody know how the workout went? I assume if he didn't tank the workout then Ingram will be the pick in two weeks.
Interesting...we will see if the Sixers bite: http://www.lakersnation.com/kentuck...y-should-be-top-pick-in-nba-draft/2016/06/09/
We'll hear from the media immediately following the workout so I'm guessing it either hasn't started or isn't done yet.
Of course Calipari will say that. That's his guy. He's not gonna openly acknowledge that either Simmons or Ingram are better prospects than Murray even though they're clearly ahead of the pack in this draft.
I doubt the Lakers would want to release anything regarding the workout. I'm sure there will be "sources" stating the Lakers loved him or weren't blown away, but Mitch and Co. will definitely be keeping the cards close to heart with these things.
