I apologize ahead of time for doing this to yal. I don't think the video can be embedded here for some reason. Click on the link or "2 weeks ago" to be horrified
I think I know now what it feels like for my bone marrow to turn into ice. What the f*** is that? I watched literally 0.33 seconds before I had to change it.
Man, I don't know what that was all about. Looks like they were taking some pupae out of there. How did he get it? I skimmed through it and it was the same thing over and over again. Ugh...terrible. Komodo Dragon from the Komodo island of Indonesia. Outnumber the human population 2 to 1. They take kids, livestock and the elderly there. Also part of their tourism appeal ironically.
Those buggers are fast. The two people involved with this picture put themselves in real danger just to get a cool photo op.
Crocodiles look scary because their teeth are exposed. Of course Komodos are terrifying enough without showing their teeth, but look what's behind those lizard lips!
Plus they're not designed to bite and hold. They take a bite, let their pray walk off and die from the two dozen toxins in their saliva, and then walk calmly over there to eat. These dragons are seriously terrifying.
Mostly true. I thought it was bacteria as well until about last week actually. Science has determined they are truly venomous, with venom glands and all. Their mouth bacteria levels are no more toxic than most other animals.
...apparently they were native to Australia [who knew?] but migrated over to Indonesia when there was a land bridge between the two places. They are now the apex predators over there. According to scientists, their bites are strategic too...ankles and feet so the prey becomes hobbled and eventually unable to move.
You can call me a Dwight, but I aint going to check this one out. The first picture was enough for me
Steve Irwin was so damn cool. edit- I love some of his faux action shots where they splice together some acting and some aggression with intense music, but just a few minutes later you can see the real thing.
