Injuries coming in bunches. It was ugly when we were healthy, we are in for some blowouts now.

It's not like we weren't getting blown out before.

Worst thing is this means more of Huertas.

Actually we have had a lot of close games lately compared to maybe weeks or a month before. We hung in there with some good teams until the end, had some comebacks, there was some competetive ball going on compared to earlier in the season. We hadn't been winning, but the games had gotten quite a bit more watchable. Now, we're in for lineups like Huertas, Young, MWP, Nance, Bass. Not that Nance and Bass aren't solid, but that lineup together is one of the worst in the NBA.

Call up Jabari and Vander Blue. I know Vander has had chances in the NBA, but so what? What do we have to lose? We should have cut Kelly and Sacre months (years?) ago. Get rid of them and give some fresh blood a shot.

edit- Also I feel bad for Anthony. I'm hard on him, but he seems like a good kid. I hope this is something he can bounce back from.

He's going to do well in Luke's system. Wait and see. If he doesn't, I'll eat crow, but he's a a high IQ guy, moves off the ball, has the potential to be a good catch and shoot player, and his defense is not bad, IMO. By the end of next season, he'll be a rotation player.

...a really, really, really poor man's Harrison Barnes? I lost my mind once and said Brown could be like a Sean Elliot type. Taught me not to mix several bottles of Heineken and start typing crazy stuff. Seriously though, I see your points in that he COULD be a nice complementary player in the system. Provided of course, that Brown has honed his skills and is mentally ready...

Think more like Danny Green, IMO.

I don't have any expectations for Brown. For a guy who's supposably a shooter he couldn't shoot at all last season. He's just not a guy you even notice is playing out there. He's just a body right now. Hopefully he can develop, but I'd rather us sign a veteran SF who can backup Ingram someone like Dudley.

That is an apt comparison IMO... This could be where Shaw will earn his money as an assistant. Develop players like Brown that can contribute something on the floor. Walton with his good interpersonal skills can provide assurance and a level of inspiration to light something under him.

I'm not as down on Brown as I make it out to be, if he's kept on as a 14th/15th man project, 3rd SF, I'm fine with it. He's cheap, he plays defense and hustles, and doesn't need the ball at all. All he has to do is start knocking down his threes, play with a little more confidence, and he becomes a worthwhile bench player.

eh, i'm done with brown. they can keep him, a la sacre and kelly, but the point in drafting him was that he was ready to step in and play. maybe he becomes danny green, but if he does, i'm guessing the path will be similar (several teams, several years). go find someone who's already halfway through that process for the vet min.

Yeah my problem with him is that the one skill he was supposed to have translate right away to the NBA game was his shooting. His peers even voted him the best shooter in the draft as I recall. The fact he couldn't hit a three pointer last year was really frustrating.

His defense and effort is there. I don't mind him being on the team, but I'm going to keep my expectations very low. I hope he proves me wrong though.
