    1. he's not a laker yet.
    2. i think people think of him as a perimeter player, thus lower standing reach (etc.) is less impactful. julius's lack of length certainly hurts him when he tries to finish in the paint. it might hurt simmons, too, though his game lends itself to clearer finishes (more distance between him and potential shotblockers).

but this point is still a good one. his measurables don't jump off the page at you. i know we'll go back and forth a million times about this in the next month, but as of today, ingram's the guy i want. and not just for fit. his upside is as high as simmons', and his downside is higher, if that makes sense.

    Ingram's jumper is so smooth.

He has some of that Nance left hand coming off the ball too soon with his shot going on. Interesting though. Did not watch the whole clip.

After watching some highlights of both guys, I'm leaning toward the Ingram side. Love his ability to spread the floor or drive it, not afraid of taking big shots. He just need to cultivate a little mass. Simmons, while athletic as hell and with a great handle for a guy his size, seems like a little more of a project. Reminds me a little of Biff when he came into the league. While he can drive/finish well and has more highlight reel moments, his jumper isn't reliable enough yet and we already have a project named Julius Randle. Plus I am not sure whether or not Simmons' buddy-buddy relationship with Dlo is a good or a bad thing. Chemistry is good, but they seem like the types that might love to fool around a little too much.

Either way, I'd be happy with whoever Philly doesn't pick so it's a good problem to have.

For me it's because Randle is clearly a PF, and Simmons looks like he is more of a SF if he can fix his shot. Even then he's got much more guard skills than Randle, he's a better dribbler and passer. His length wouldn't matter as much if he's playing the 3 spot, which I don't see Randle ever playing, he's a big. He just runs Iike this is all

So... I watched a bunch of Ingram tape...

    1. The boy is an offensive juggernaut, and I predict he will remain the same in the NBA. He has all the moves. Post up (where he gets pushed, but the moves are there). Face-up iso. Spot up. Mid-range. Attacking the rim.

    2. He is also a very good passer, especially impressive was his ability to lead the break. Many spot on, timely passes.

    3. I liked multiple defensive sequences from him... very versatile.

I am not sure Simmons ends up the better player, at all.

I like being in a position that you can make a great case for either Ingram or Simmons and be right. Either player is going to elevate our team. I am also glad we don't have to make the choice. I have thought about it for along time and it would be make me lose what little hair I have left. As it is we will almost all be happy with the player we get and will soon all be saying it was the one we wanted anyway. Nice position.

Shhhhh... Philly's FO might be reading this. Simmons is the next LeBron James.

I am kinda hoping Thon Maker drops to the Lakers in the 2nd round. He is raw but seems to have the physical tools to develop into a solid NBA player. I also find Zhou Qi intriguing for his size and skill set. It seems like both could be stretch 4/5 in the future and both appear on draft boards ranging from mid 20's to low 40's.

When Kobe was playing present tense was Kobe "shots" too much. Does that mean going forward that past tense will be Kobe "shat" too much? :KobeConfused:
