I hope he comes home. That would be such a good acquisition, IMO. Do it, Mitch

This video is a year and a half old already... I wish he shot as well from three in the NBA as he does in this video.

I do think a change in scenery could help him grow. I hope there's mutual interest this summer.

While I understand the point he's making, I'm not sure I agree with the line of thinking that one great player is better than 2 good ones. Because two good players for 48 minutes is better than a great one for 36 and a minimum for 12. And obviously the players we are talking about are not "great" other than Durant. This isn't a question of Chris Paul for 36 with Huertas for 12. It's a question of Teague for 36 and Huertas for 12 vs. George Hill for 24 and Patty Mills for 24.

But it's more than that. It's the fact that it could prevent us from signing someone who wants to come here but can't because of a big ugly contract. How would our team have been different had Kobe's giant contract not been there? Would there have been a couple free agents that wanted to come here, but couldn't cause we didn't have enough space to construct a team around them?

Besides watching a few Drew League videos, I admit I never watched Derozen play. But the past two weeks I have. I'm for signing him, BUT he is not a true 3. Although he's 6'7, he isn't a particularly long athlete. He plays on both ends like a 2 guard. I could see us playing him at the 3 for short stretches, but not full time. Which begs the question, what do we do with Clarkson? Bring him off the bench as a 6th man? I love Jordan and don't want to stunt his growth either.

That's the same concern I have.

If we draft Ingram, I really like Deng. Deng was also a Dukie with a versatile offensive reportoire. He had good size as a SF and a long wingspan but was not fully physically developed. Sound similar? Who else would be better to show Ingram the ropes and teach him how to be a consummate professional every night? We need talent but we need veteran presence/leadership even more. Deng over Barnes/Derozan please.

I like Clarkson, but he's a 3rd guard in a 3 guard rotation. If he's your starting sg, he better be the 4th or 5th best player in your starting 5 by a significant margin. I'd love him to prove me wrong, but he has actually digressed on the defensive end. It is entirely possible that his defensive digression and general confusion on that end is due to Byron's tutelage. But it's irresponsible to assume Byron is 100% to blame, because even if he doesn't know what he's doing, he can still try to chase people. He had some James Harden-like defensive sequences this season.

Because Jordan can play both guard spots, he can conceivably get a lot of playing time if we find a way to jettison Lou Williams. I do have my concerns about DeRozan, but they aren't related to sending Clarkson to the bench. They revolve around his ability to hit threes, his propensity to disappear in big moments and maxing out a guy who isn't really THAT much better than Clarkson. DeRozan is the second best player on a team that is getting crushed in the ECF. You could actually make a case he is the 3rd best. Valanciunas has been a beast for them this season. I'm just not sure he's worth taking up a max slot with for a team who's ability to land big free agents will rest entirely on the development of Russel, Randle and Ingram. If I had to pick my "max" candidate, it would be Horford. Now if we can swing a trade of Nance and Clarkson for one of Philly's centers, I'd sign DeRozan in a heartbeat.

Oh lord. OK am officially off of the Whiteside bandwagon. Not that I was more than (50%) on it. I want him nowhere near our locker room.

Not sure if we should interpret that as some clown whose gonna mess around and get fat after he gets his contract ... or a very talented NBA player with a unique personality that would shine in Los Angeles. Because that was pretty damn funny.

He may indulge himself once again with his sweet tooth once he's paid. That's akin to Vlade smoking. It was funny as hell seriously. I liked it against the sky and clouds with his dialogue. But he comes off looking like an 18 year old jerk off with his toys around like the drone (nothing against drones) and chilling' with his buddies much like Swaggy and Arenas and Russell unfortunately did last year. The guy is what.... 26 years old. Don't know though when that was shot. As opposed to what we read about an Ingram, even more so than Simmons. Or a beast like this in Randle

....bent on working to be great. Or Clarkson or Nance or Russell hopefully now since he just got killed and lost 1st team All Rookie ..... for jerking around with mass media. That clip won't do any favors for perception of what Whiteside could be like once he gets his multi-year max contract. Scary. Give me Horford or Biyombo or Noah. Don't want Ezili.

    Get off my lawn.

I don't think it's scary. If anything it's good seeing a side of a player that people don't often see. He baked himself a cake and named it. That's hysterical!

Could he become a glutton on his big contract? Yeah maybe. That's always an issue for sure. I've bounced back and forth on whether I'd take that chance. Right now I'm still yes, but I reserve the right to change that 1000 more times before the season is over.

Seriously? He ate a red velvet cake who cares? That has no impact on his free agency. None.
