I would prefer Noah more than Whiteside, but not at the max.

Yeah. I kind of feel bad because that Bosh deal is really going to hurt. Also, Wade seems like he's going to end up like Kobe was for us. Franchise legend that wants to be paid like a top 5 player when his best days are long gone. I think they can find somewhere to dump Dragic though. He's still pretty good (not worth the max though) and may be a good fit for some team. Maybe they can trade him to the Spurs for Boris Diaw? Diaw only makes 7 million for another 2 seasons and I think with him off the roster, the Spurs could absorb his contract.

You sign him to the max with team options. It gives him a reason to sign here (because he probably gets 12 million a season for 4 years) so you pay him twice that to allow us to get out of the contract if we need to.

Maybe, but everyone will know Miami is over a barrel and low ball them. If I'm an opposing GM, I'm certainly not just going to help Riley fix his team. I'll tell him to give me a pick with Dragic. I can't think of anywhere that Dragic fits off the top of my head, but there's probably a couple teams. Riley is going to have an interesting summer.

Agreed that if Ingram is as good of a shooter as he appears to be, that would actually make DeRozan fit decently into the starting line-up. My issues before were if DeRozan would be our starting 3 with Clarkson at the 2, there isn't a consistent catch and shoot perimeter player. If we hypothetically had Ingram and Horford to space the floor a bit more, then DeRozan at the 2 (and Clarkson off the bench) would give a nice fast break partner/slasher for Dlo to find for easy buckets.

My only concern with DeRozan is that I'd hope he doesn't get a big head from being an all-star and going to the ECF. He'd be a complimentary player here. I would hate for our offense to get bogged down in too many DeRozan iso's because we feel we have to feature him more prominently just because of his contract and "star" factor.

Hiring Luke means we won't see many isos no matter who we sign. Last year both Kobe and Julius were among the Top 5 in isolation percentage. No Warriors players were even in the top 50 overall. The Warriors were among the league low in isolation plays. We're going to be about ball movement and more importantly man movement. It's going to be a ton of fun.

^^ My feelings almost exactly Helljumper. I actually think DeRozan is much less likely to come here actually now that he's gone to the ECF, even if he gets swept. He's their second best player on Toronto and an All Star in the east. If we get Ingram and he comes here he drops down the totem pole and he won't be the focus of our offense, per se. He'll sacrifice shots and starring role to come here. Not sure he does that now, honestly. I'm ok either way.

I actually think the opposite. I think the way this team is heading (keeping #2 overall) we aren't going to attract the championship chasing guys (Horford, Durant, Noah), but guys that are content with the money, location, just getting into the playoffs for now, sold on the future cap, player progression to become serious contenders.

Two guys that fit that are DDR and Whiteside. I don't think ECF matter to DDR, I genuinely think he just wants to come home much like Nick Young. Maybe if they got to the Finals, but honestly that team is overachieving right now, they could easily get sent home in the 1st round with that same team (which they have no space to improve) multiple times. I don't want to jinx anything but these DDR tumors have been around for a couple years now, there's more than smoke brewing here IMO.

Whiteside can be sold on max money (Can MIA even move the pieces to make this happen), larger role and is at the point where he's not intent on going to a team that's championship contenders right now.

I just think both those guys fit what we have going on right here and have multiple reasons to come here over their current teams.

Biyombo for sure. MUCH less risk and Biyombo just keeps getting better and better. I'm not worried about Biyombo getting fat and lazy, especially if he knows only 2 years are guaranteed. Whiteside is such a huge risk. And do we want to bring in that dude around our kids? I mean, with the #2 pick, we have a daycare center at this point. My #1 choice is still see if we can pry Noel out of Philly. We have Clarkson and Nance, two positions of need for Philly. Those two plus maybe lift the protection from next years pick?

I probably didn't even have to post. You could have just counted me for __________ over Whiteside. :D

We need to focus on good character guys and two way players that play as a team.

    Go after

Harrison Barnes he can play 2-4
Hassan Whiteside (for defense, Luke can help him maturity wise)
Luol Deng as our 6th man and possible small ball lineup.
    Resign JC
    Resign T black

    D'angelo
    Harrison
    Brandon
    Julius
    Hassan

That right there is a good offensively and defensively lineup, just have to build chemistry, also that lineup is athletic and has major length.

    Bench mob

    Huertas
    JC
    Deng
    Nance
    Black

I'd take Whiteside in that scenario realdeal, but I wouldn't mind Biyombo either. Both of those deals work for me. Preference is Whiteside.

whiteside in realdeal's scenario. even with the character issues. biyombo's not much bigger than randle. over 82 games, this will manifest itself. he needs to be below max.
