    Ingram.

This is literally neck and neck.

    You cannot go wrong.

A lot of you guys have echoed my thoughts on this: Both great prospects. Simmons has the slightly higher ceiling. Ingram is the better fit.

I'll be ecstatic with either guy. Great day to be a Laker fan!!

Nope but sounds like a good pick. We need a center that can play the pick and roll, defend it, protect the paint, and of course rebound (so I'm hoping we sign Whiteside haha).

But the guy I really want at 32 is Tyler Ulis. He's projected to go at 20 to the Pacers but I am hoping teams getting scared off by his size and he slips to us in the second round. I was very impressed with his PG skills and is a willing defender and was clutch during the tournament. I believe he could be a good complement to Russell as a backup point guard.

Maybe Philly prefers Simmons because he has bigger star potential and the alpha personality? They need a ball handler and a creator, maybe he can be it.

Mitch said this draft was more than a two person race. We'll see who steps into that opportunity. Some candidates are Dunn, Bender, Brown, and Poetl.

Ultimately though I don't know that any of those prospects give you what either Ingram or Simmons can give you.

Decent prospect for sure. The biggest problem probably is his height. He's got kind of a Tarik Black about him, but we've got a Tarik Black already. Both of them are probably best as Centers, but sized more for Power Forwards.

I can't see it. Last year's draft was a lot deeper and stronger. The drop off from 2-4 wasn't that steep. In this draft it is.

Just went back and skimmed through most of last year's draft thread. The consensus DID seem to be that there was a big drop off after 2. After the lottery, everyone assumed it was either KAT or Okafor.

Now, the main reason I'm optimistic about our franchise is Russell. At this time last year, I was all in on Jah. Right now I'd prefer Ingram. But I have complete faith in Mitch and our scouting department if they decide to pick someone outside of Ingram/Simmons.

What?? Stop it man :) That would be like picking Darko when Wade and Melo were still on the board, we're not Dumars stupid. This is a 2 man race and we can't go wrong with either one :D.

I think this year really is a two man race. We already have the back court set...so kris dunn, buddy hield and jamal murray are all not possible by virtue of our back court being set. I think our front court obviously need help....ESPECIALLY the 3 spot because. I dunno...I'll really be disappointed if we make a reach pick this year....and tbh, D'Angelo at 2 hasn't proven to be the right choice just yet. I think he was the better choice over Okafor, but not sure he was a better choice over KP, Booker and maybe even Myles Turner. I will reserve judgment on D'Angelo until we see him play under Luke.

We have to draft Ingram or Simmons. I really don't like or want anybody else. It's very obvious what we need going forward and both guys would fill those holes. Lakers cannot afford to get cute with this pick. Get cute with the 32nd pick...not a top 2 pick.

Honestly if we draft Simmons I would bulk him up a bit and put him at the 5. Amare played center with the same height and weight, so why can't Simmons? He'd be the first point-center in history and we'd be the best passing team in the league. Show Time version 2016.

I believe Mitch is prejudiced against Dukies. He did not draft Okafor and he might not want Ingram. He drafted Ryan Kelly to prove that Dukies suck.

Well, Philly's coach is friends with Simmons family. We'll see how it goes, no way we're even considering someone outside of these two though.

That's what we thought last year, then we went with Russell.
