Simmons/Ingram, Russell, Randle, & Nance will probably make less combined than Festus Ezeli will make next year. Fromt GT

It's going to take me awhile to look for GT's thoughts. He posted them awhile ago; whatever I find, I'll PM you.

Major differences I suppose would be that even Lamar was a better shooter than Simmons coming into the NBA and Simmons might be a more explosive athlete both in space and in traffic. Lamar was a great athlete, but Simmons drew comparisons to LeBron because of his explosive ability on the break that even Lamar didn't show. Lamar was also a little more under control going to the rim on the drive. He had that extend-o arm and big hands he could just extend and get to the rim. Simmons' length and hand size isn't quite Lamar's so he's forced to do a lot more acrobatics to get looks at the rim.

Ingram is certainly a great fit. I think I'd prefer him right now, but there is a certain star power to Simmons that Ingram doesn't have that might fit the LA aesthetic a bit more. I'm sure Simmons will angle to get here while I think Ingram would be okay wherever he goes. That could factor into who the Sixers pick. I really could see Simmons and Okafor doing their best to get out of there. Heck just look at the attitude Simmons showed in college last year. When things get tough he's going to have a hard time with it.

You can condense and share here. Am guessing he like many would be all over the better fit with Ingram, but like most everyone everywhere realizes Simmons is a special talent as well. Simmons is really explosive in the open court and going to the rack. An opposing player could get hurt guarding Randle or him. Showtime, Luke style, is back baby. DAR keep working your a** off to redeem yourself from phonegate.

I really didn't pay attention to college basketball this year; what I do like is Simmons' size. I haven't checked his measurements, but he seems like a big dude. He's not a tweener, IMO. He's appropriately sized.

    Simmons - 6'10" 240 lbs 7'0.25" wingspan 9'0.5" reach 37" vertical

I love size and athletes at every position. I don't mind playing small, but I see the way OKC has had much success playing so far; they have size and athletes at every position. On top of that, Simmons is so darn skilled.

As I said can't go wrong either way. Simmons probably has a little better ceiling, but Ingram is the better shooter, defender, and has the superior overall offensive game. Great fit in Luke's motion offense. Can run 1/3 screen and rolls with Brandon and D'Angelo. Can go small with those two along with Nance, Julius, and Clarkson and be able to switch more. More space for Julius down low in the paint.

Simmons is really intriguing because of his superior play making ability. He gives us multiple playmakers like Golden State has. Much like D'Angelo he'll be able to rifle passes to cutters or initate the offensive sets in the motion offense. He can push the break and we'll just be a nightmare in transition. The athleticism with Ben, LJ, Julius, and JC would be insane. They would run many teams off the court with that ridiculus athleticism.

I'm excited either way. We are getting a great player just like we did last year. You're talking about a core with not one, not two, but three potential All Stars and at least a couple of potential superstars in D'Angelo and whoever we get between Brandon and Ben.

This is going to sound weird, but honestly he compares kind of to Magic to me. He's a legit 6'10" and has tremendous vision, he's athletic and not a strong shooter. As great a passer as D'Angelo is, I think Simmons could be even better. The two of them on the same team would really give you some Showtime moments.

    The big problems:

His shot: it's not that his shot is broken, but he has no confidence in it. It needs a ton of work for sure though. He's not consistent and he tends to twist around a lot.
His mentality: Is he the guy who will do what needs to be done for you? Is he the guy who can handle things when the going gets tough? He certainly did not perform his best as a college player and was at times accused of quitting on his team. Sure his team was bad, but he chose that team so that responsibility lies on him.
His length: his arm reach really isn't great for his size. At 6'10" you'd hope for a little longer arms, but he's still got a 7' reach. Julius Randle also has a 7' reach and I'm sure you saw how it occasionally would be an issue defensively at the rim.

Still he's a great, great prospect. Even if Ingram has all the tools, I'm not convinced Simmons isn't the best player in the draft. He's got next level stuff already (passing and athleticism).

So either we get Magic 2.0 or KD 2.0.

    Not bad. :ShaqOh2:

Absolutely Not. Clarkson and Nance should net us something better than Noel, who hasn't proven enough to me. I don't even think I trade just Clarkson for him.

This is all great but its assuming Philly takes Simmons. What if they take Ingram, which as it stand today will probably happen?

    Hell no.

Clarkson at worst is a super sub and Nance has the potential to be a really good power forward one day and sooner rather than later. Noel is a great defender, but he doesn't have much of an offensive game which will really hurt spacing on this team especially if we get Simmons as well.

Ummm .... I was searching for some clips on Noel and instead found this article. Another fine upstanding Sixers citizen off the court. Maybe the illicit stuff was not his, but it was the company he keeps and in his house it was being done. The wanton damage does not speak highly to his character.

    http://www.tmz.com/2016/04/08/nerle...-ever-weed-gatorade-stains-and-death-threats/

Oh ..... and priceless .... he wants his security deposit back. Check the photos in the slide show section of the article.

No thank you to this cat.
