Not with the #3 pick. Thon is a big project Dunn is at least more ready. But like others have said, if we land #3 no doubt we are going to try and move it
if they get #3 i'm thinking they move it only if they're confident they can make a legit run at whiteside in FA if not, they'll probably draft bender
I'm not trading the #2 pick for anything other than a star. I'll gladly take Ingram or Simmons, have another great young player to add to our core, grow with them, on a relatively cheap rookie contract.
I have a feeling simmons is going to force his way to Los Angeles. He's going to tank the workout for Philly
Plus wouldn't Ingram be a better fit for the 76ers since they have a million pf and centers? Simmons plays pf
At this early stage, pre-workouts and all the hype for each player after those workouts, I don't really care who we get between those 2. Ingram is a SF we need, long, good shooter, and Simmons has all around game, physical specimen, and is a former teammate and a friend of Russ. Either way we most likely get a really good to great player. I said it before and I'll say it again, I almost prefer the 2nd pick because I wouldn't want to make the wrong choice between these 2 guys.
And another thing, the fact that D'Angelo and Simmons are buddies makes me not want Simmons. D'Angelo needs to get some seriousness slapped into him, and another buddy to clown around with ain't gonna help. And seemingly all I seem to hear about Simmons is non-basketball stuff. Dude is worried about his shoe deal. I'd rather hear reports of his a** in the gym shooting 1,000 jumpers so the Lakers actually consider him.
I saw that. Interesting. I could definitely see Simmons trying to force his way here. Clearly he wasn't too proud to stink at times in college in order to protect his draft value. I'm not sure having Russell's buddy around him is good or bad. Tough to say, I'd have to interview him. Russell has some habits I'd like to foster and some habits I'd like to break. Sometimes older friends make you fall back in older habits. I think overall Simmons is the more talented, but you guys know me: I'm all about that high character. I love the Ingram pick.
