I'll be angry for sure. A draft can change a franchise for a decade.

I'd be pretty disappointed if we end up losing the pick, I think after such a train wreck of two years the team needs as much talent as we could get. Usually I go into things with a more of a pessimistic outlook, but I have the feeling we will keep the pick.

I would be disappointed to lose such a high draft pick because I don't expect to win only 17 games again anytime soon. I'd rather just pay off our owed draft picks soon to finally get it over with.

Keeping the pick would obviously be beneficial since we would either get a young prospect or be able to trade it for a quality player. But losing the pick, it opens up even more cap space to play around with.

Mitch and Jimmy are going to do all they can to save their jobs, meaning they expect to field a playoff team next year. So would I be bummed to lose a top 3 pick this year and keep a much later pick next year? Um yes!

That's assuming we don't get any stars in free agency in the coming years. I can't see that happening if Julius and D'Angelo develop like we all believe they will.

I certainly hope we get the pick. I am not sure if Mitch & Co. plan to keep it, but it is still great to have options.

Don't forget Foston can get the number 1 pick ... It would be a disaster .

Best value of a top 3 pick for us right now is to trade it before draft day

I'm not assuming anything, but landing big name FA's seem harder than hitting the lottery nowadays. With Simmons/Ingram, the chances of them becoming stars are greater than 50/50 and we're pretty much guaranteed to lock them up for 9 years. Losing out on an oppurtunity like that? Hell yes I'd be disappointed.

I'm the same way. I was really into it last season, but this year I just never thought we would get it. I'll be surprised if we do.

I want it. To have the worst season in Laker history and walk away without a 1st round pick... top 3 at that, would be devastating. Really set us back even further.

It's not the end of the world if we don't get it. It's a coin flip basically and that's tough to get too emotional over those odds. If we don't keep it, there's next year's draft which should be deeper and we keep that one no matter what.

That said, it would be nice to keep the pick not just because of drafting but because of the possibility of trading it. Good option to have. I won't be devastated because I'm not expecting it to happen, but I would be disappointed for sure to see Philly get two top 5 picks.

I'd be fine either way. If we lose it, well that's how dem balls bounce. If we keep it, awesome!

I mean, if we still had Byron and then lose it? I'd totally go on a nerd rage. As it stands now... the offseason looks bright regardless.

Yes what I hate most about it and I vividly remember is they don't start the damn thing till about 15 minutes or so after they're supposed. It takes another 15 minutes to get to the top five. It is agonizing.

I think I would be initially mad because we lose out on a potential franchise player, or at worst a decent trade asset. But then, I would be ok because we still have a ton of money to spend, tremendous youth, and a coach that isn't Byron Scott.

It'll soften the blow to know that it means we keep our pick next year in what folks are saying is a MUCH deeper draft class. Could make an argument we'd be better off taking our chances & letting the chips fall where they may in that lottery rather than get the 4th or 5th in this year's draft based on the early projections.

The added cap room is better than a fork in the eye as well...

I'll be elated if we have the #1 or #2 pick, but I'd be disappointed with the #3 pick. I'll be okay if we fall out and lose the pick altogether. To me it will be paying our dues and moving on. If we get one of the top two picks we are likely getting an incredible piece to the future of this franchise. The #3 pick is mediocrity in a way.

Need the pick. Need it. If for no other reason than keeping the good flavor rolling into the draft and FA. Just good karma.

    Kobe''s 60-->Byron Fired-->Luke's Hired--> Lottery-->Draft-->FA-->2016/2017 Season....

Don't need a speedbump, let's just keep the Maserati going 185.
