Yeah Bynum and Maker are two totally different prospects. Bynum was a pudgy kid with great talent as a classic big man. Maker is a skinny kid who plays like KD but has none of his awareness. I'd still draft him and put him on the D-Fenders to season for 3 years, but seriously he's far from ready to compete in the NBA. Really really far.
And even if Brown ends up being a failure it's not like there was heaps of talent available that we passed on for Brown. I think Norman Powell is the only player drafted after Brown who is contributing.
Which stings me a bit because I like Norman and I liked him at the time. That being said, 90% of us were asking for Anthony Brown in the 2nd round and we got him so... Sometimes you just miss. Like you said: no harm done really if he doesn't work out. The Lakers were smart enough to nab Nance Jr. in the 1st which was an absolute steal.
