Can't wait to see Civil War tomorrow. The reviews have been incredible. Nearly everyone is heralding this as either the best comic book movie or at the very least Marvel's best comic book movie. Looks like they're in damn good hands with the Russo brothers.
Stealing a line I saw somewhere: Civil War might not be the best comic book film, but it's the best comic book movie. Dark Knight is probably a better "film" from an artistic perspective, but Civil War is a better representation of a comic book movie on screen while still being VERY strong from a dramatic perspective. I'd say it's clearly the best comic book movie of the MCU and right in the top echelon for comic book films. Top tier: Spider-Man 2, Civil War, and Dark Knight. Second tier: Winter Soldier, Avengers, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man Third tier: Batman Begins, Dark Knight Rises, Cap 1, Ultron, Superman 1, Superman 2, etc.
I'm really confused that you put Spider-Man 2 on the level of The Dark Knight or above Winter Soldier. I would put Spider-Man 2 on tier 4 or 5 on your list if Batman Begins is tier 3. Spider-Man 3 would then be like tier 10 by default.
Spider-Man 2 is widely accepted as one of the greatest comic book movies ever my friend! It's not just a good "film" but it's a good comic book movie as well. Give it a watch again, it's really solid.
Can't do it, can't stand those movies, seen 2 and some of 3 recently on tv. The Nolan Batman films and Disney taking over Marvel and doing what they have done only makes it worse looking back.
CIVIL WAR WAS AMAZING. Easily top 3 if not THE BEST marvel film to date for me personally. Good plot, good acting, smart use of humor, beautiful action sequences, all the heroes had their moment to shine. I want to see it again.
First time in a really long time that I would actually see the movie again. In theaters. Like asap. The movie was awesome in so many ways.

Grrrrrr. All my friends and family have seen it and they're giving it rave reviews, even the ones who aren't really comic book fans. That's alright, the more good I hear about it, the more hyped I get when I'm finally able to see it.
Saw Civil War Saturday. HOLY s***! That's as near of a perfect super hero/comic book movie as you'll find. Nearly flawless. The airport scene and the final fight scene were both incredible action pieces. The Russo brothers managed to give every character a purpose and something to do in a very crowded movie, it could've very easily been an overstuffed cluster f*** if in the wrong hands (someone like Snyder). Black Panther and Spidey chewed up every scene they were in. Looking forward to their own films 10x more than I was prior to seeing the movie.
This is definitely one of those rare movies that can live up to high expectations. Fun, exciting, and dammit hurry up and watch guys because I want to have spoiler-y conversations about a good movie!
Great movie. I judge movies on whether I would pay to see it again vs wait for it to come out on Netflix. Absolute. No. Brainer. Fantastic.
