    wow. tom penn f***ing hates the lakers. like, it's dripping from his pores. weird to hear him talk like that.

    btw, i'm gagging, but those are my thoughts exactly. lebron choosing la would represent a complete shift from what he's done so far in his career (which i think has been pretty lame in terms of competitive spirit). it's why i've been convinced he's going to houston: it's SO in character. going to la would represent a complete change in strategy and worldview, imo.*

    and--i'll admit my bias--taking la from the doldrums back into prominence (title or no) would be as big or bigger than winning a couple titles in houston. but again, i would have said the same about going to chicago with bosh instead of joining with wade and bosh in miami back in 2010...

    we'll see who this guy is. and btw, it's all fine by me. if he joins houston, he's who i thought he was, and i can root against him heartily. if he comes here, he's different, and i can root for him heartily.



    *here's where i should out myself as a psychologist who studies consistency in individualized patterns of behavior, i guess. in short, there's not a lot of data behind big shifts in central motivation or general action.

    Even with an opt out, Cleveland can still do a S&T to Houston using Bron's bird rights. Although, if they do, then Houston is hard capped at the apron (130M) and would have to shed salary/player's rights to make a Bron S&T possible.
