    BT: we got 48 hours to match. So for example, if Jules signs an offer sheet the first minute into free agency (Mitch and the Cats don't have cap space, right?), we have the ability to match 48hrs after the moratorium ends (aka July 8th by 9am pt). However if Jules signs after the moratorium, then 48 hours from the time we get faxed the offer sheet.

    He also said, and Marks agreed, that the chances are wildly slim it happens given what the Rockets are going to pay for Chris Paul and Clint Capela.

    And Chris Paul himself apparently is telling people LeBron doesn't want to go to Houston. :D

    We're going to get Lebron, and we'll get somebody else. History repeats itself; Lebron came with Bosh to joing D-Wade; Lebron join a Cleveland team with a stud PG and a Kevin Love in August...and check this out, that deal was done after the draft, but couldn't officially be done until the league approves trades, which I believe happened in August.

    I think you see my drift; that's why I'm 100% sure the Lakers FO and Lebron have contigency plans; if by chance PG wants to stay in OKC, we have space and assets to add another stud via FA or Trade. Let's not forget: nobody is "untouchable". We're going to make something happen; that much I'm sure of; of course that's just my opinion, but I'm following bread crumbs...until this all becomes official in July.

    A lot of, If not the majority of free agents announce who they will sign with within a few days of free agency talks opening, and some announce it July 1st. That LeBron only did it AFTER you could actually sign both times only proves cookie’s point. He KNEW he was going back to Cleveland in ‘14, yet he still made the league wait on him for almost 2 weeks because he is a drama queen and relishes in the attention. I genuinely hope that this time he makes his official decision and announces it within a few days at most.

    He could be lobbying hard, doesn't mean it's working. I don't believe either of them to be honest, especially knowing how badly Woj doesn't want Chris Paul here. You think he's an unbiased source of information on this?

    And what will Paul’s rebuttal be to LeBron saying, “but, bro, what am I supposed to do when your hamstring snaps or your knee gives out in the 2nd round or WCF?”. “Uh..., well..hmm”. “Banana boat buddy, how are we gonna continue to improve the team when you’re making 45 million dollars at 36?”. Not a good sales pitch.

    I believe most of the Lakers stuff with Lebron at this point. Most media people consistently say we are the favorite, objectively speaking we give Lebron the exact chance he would want in regards to building his own super team, and also his family in LA. It just makes too much sense.

    So you're not at all afraid of that tampering cloud that's been hovering over us since that whole PG thing a summer ago? It even got to a point where we were threatened with the possibility that Silver could outright deny PG to LA via free agency.

    Why risk anything in one of the biggest summers for our franchise these last couple decades (Shaq/Kobe circa 96)?

    Players make verbal agreements way before free agency starts. If Randle signs an offer sheet, I don’t see him pulling a DJ and going back on his word.

    No. LeBron and PG both having meetings with the Lakers by July 2nd, “decide” the next day. The meetings “blew them away”, no tampering, we wowed them, they bought Magic’s vision, it’s all good. If the league didn’t stop LeBron to Miami (which was planned a year or more in advance), or the Chris Paul to Houston trade which was clearly done through back channel tampering, we are safe.

    Cook: Jules is a RFA...by rule we have 48 hrs to match. Bron at the most has decided 2 days after the moratorium was lifted. Even if Jules gets an offer sheet the first second of free agency, LA will have the ability to match 48 hours till after the moratorium is lifted. Moratorium is July 1st 12:00am et to July 6th 12:00pm et. So we have 2 days, or till July 8th, to decide on Jules...and historically, Bron hasn't taken longer than 2 days to decide.

    point is that you wouldn't lobby your friend if he was dead-set on something else. a few years back, my best buddy had a job offer with us, but it was clear to me he didn't want it at the time (he works here now). i wasn't going to be in his business all day trying to get him to come here when it was clear that wasn't in line with his goals. friends don't that, imo.

    as for woj: i agree he seems to have it in for the lakers, but this isn't an opinion. he's reporting what he's heard. his report isn't going to sway actual events, so it would be pretty silly to just say only the stuff that supports your hopes. it's a great way to kill your credibility, which is DEFINITELY the foundation of his career.

    so, i believe him when he says paul is lobbying hard, and i believe that's bad news for us. i believe screamin' a definitely heard what he heard, too, but i bet he didn't hear it from paul.

    "it won't happen because you'll be here to help lighten the load. plus, we almost beat them anyway?

    who cares what some billionaire's tax bill will be after we've won three straight titles and ended GS's run, basically cementing your status as the GOAT."

    So cap clearing trades (ie Deng) or a Jules S&T to the Spurs for Kawhi before pen hits paper, wouldn't be heavily scrutinized by NBA offices, let alone all the hatin a** owners of the NBA?

    Let me remind yall, we've been hit twice with tampering charges in the 1st year of Magic/Pelinka. They're out to get us. That much is obvious.
