I don't see how Kawhi will be a Laker this offseason. I'd love to be wrong though.

yeah, i'm highly dubious. in fact, i'd almost worry if it happened, as it might mean something bad about leonard. SA will work to keep him, and if it's a lost cause, they'll move him east, imo.

Unfortunately a trade to Boston makes a ton of sense if they can figure out salaries to match.

Boston is in "win-now" mode more than a rebuild. They've got draft picks and young assets as well as some well placed veterans. They should be able to offer something like Tatum/Brown/first without missing much. It's a lot to give up, but they're in a better position to make that offer than we are. We have nothing right now besides our kids.

And in the East, Irving/Kawhi/Hayward/Horford destroys.

Yes we all understand the risks of a Achilles injury, and history has shown players never come back the same after a ruptured Achilles.... with the rumor now that the Pelicans won’t offer Boogie a max contract, if you were the Lakers what would be the most you would offer him?

I actually would offer him a 3 year $75 mil contract ($25 mil season, team option on year 3).

I just think that If he even comes back at 85% of what he was this season, he would be a unbelievable fit on this roster. As well, assuming we get Paul George as well, if Boogie takes less than the max we could keep Randle as well.

I really do like the idea of a summer of keeping the core + keeping Randle, and adding PG and a recovering Boogie. I prefer this offer the PG/LeBron scenario... I think Boogie in year 1 post Achilles will be about as effective as what Brook Lopez was for us as he works himself back into shape. Year 2 and 3 he can start looking like his old self.

i had same thought on the offer but i would do 4yrs 100mill n give dmc opt on 3rd yr so if hes legitimately back he can opt out n get his true max...we show him we're willing to commit to him

If you think he can get healthy, you only bring him in if you have a bigger alpha to keep him in check. (IMHO)

I was going to throw IT in that mix too, but while he was in Cleveland with LLLLL, he was popping off then too. Some players just might not be worth the headache, but especially not when they are injured and not themselves, but they remain delusional and think they are.

I'd like a player that can actually play next year. We're going to need a center if we don't sign slobro. I like the idea of that kind of talented big that can board and hit the 3, but at the pace we play, how effective will he be now? I think you pretty much have to kiss off at least one year for his bad wheel.

I think Laker fans would have a hard time getting excited about that. If it's part of a greater plan that we don't see yet, then I guess tell me more. Is brolo sign and trade to NO for Cousins worth looking at? Maybe. Might be a better fit there too.

id actually try to resign brooks as insurance n hed be an awesome backup if/when dmc is back 100%. just dont know what fa is out there now who can get to him....we could always have kobe be a special consultant n have him mentor dmc. friend of mine said there was a segament on 710 espn where thompson said he spoke to dmc personally once n asked him how he felt bout being a laker n dmc said he would be honored/thrilled so maybe he gets his act right by finally being somewhere he truly wants to be, he and randle would wreck this league lol

I like the idea, but it depends who the max guys are, what Randle gets, and if there is anything else to go around. Magic and Pelinka have their hands full of options for sure.

Sign and Trade for Boogie on a short term to get rid of Deng's contract would be nice.

So....with eliminations to the Heat and Spurs tonight, Pelinka can now get on the phone with Riles and Buford to discuss trading for their players without "tampering". Just saying...
