    He looks stronger

Great to see the smiles and connections between Luke and Rob.

He does look a little more solid up top. I'd like to see him doing some squats. Those lunges on the beach are cool, but those looked more like active stretching.

Deadlift, deadlift, deadlift. Basically all our kids should be squating and deadlifting all summer.

I could see him going down in the post a lot, which he's pretty good at. I remember one game against Portland he was just abusing Lillard down low and forced Portland to adjust.

He definitely took some notes while Kobe was there.

For whatever reason I feel like Russell will make the biggest jump in progress out of any of the young kids.

Yeah and he'll have Lonzo to thank!

    Russell = NBA Alford

Yeah, he's definitely going to be a lot more comfortable off ball, with less pressure of initiating the offense if we snag Lonzo.

I want to see how he works with Ball. I'm assuming we draft Ball, and I'm warming up to the idea.

Yes, he's inconsistent, but he still is one of our better prospects, and if he puts it all together, he's an All-Star.

But if Paul George comes then it's pointless. I wanna package Russell and Randle for a stud PF/C tweener that can score.

    Ball-George-Ingram-Nance-All star?

I watched Russell closely at Ohio State. He worked off-ball and there was another facilitator; bring that same dynamic to the NBA will Ball, and if Ball's skills translate well, we're going to be in good shape going forward...

You know you love Lonzo; greatest PG to come out of college since the person who is going to draft him: Magic Johnson.

It will be fun to watch.. build up everyone's value as the team develops, and re-evaluate everything in 2018.

If we can stay patient until then, we are going to to have a very good summer.

(Wanted to respond to this post from the Draft Talk thread without derailing that conversation.)

There's such a thing as acknowledging a point without going all the way to the extreme in reaction. The tweet I posted...

...was not to say that Russell is on par with the legends mentioned in that group, but rather to illustrate that he is more worthy of praise for his play than a lot of Laker fans believe. By that same token, the kid does not deserve a lot of the criticism he gets.

Stats are a tool, but they never tell the whole story (for better or worse). This particular stat sheds some light on Russell's production at such a young age stacking up quite well in the history of the league. Of course there are mental aspects to basketball that stats can't really measure, and the jury's still out on whether Russell will ever fully have his head on straight, but he just turned 21 and is already productive despite not being in a great position to succeed offensively.

Adding an elite draft pick like Ball to help with our floor spacing and continue to allow Russell to be off the ball offensively more frequently should only help increase his growth & production. I'm still bullish on him as a prospect.

Agreed, but posting stats is a waste of time when it comes to Russell. Most locked into their opinions on him the day he was drafted and refuse to let it go.
