    Call me an optimist, but Jeanie is notoriously thin-skinned and has yet to really take a lot of criticism with the public. That’s all changing before our eyes. If we face plant again and the fan base doesn’t get better basketball even with Lebron on our team? Hooooo boy, she’s going to be a pariah.

    A couple years of the fan base rightfully giving her the James Dolan treatment? I don’t think she can handle that. The multi-billion dollar sale parachute would start to look QUITE appealing to her.

    To be honest, I think money talks louder than the press. It would probably take a substantial decline in revenues, combined with/leading to a pushback from minority ownership, for that to even come to the table. As long as the Lakers and their stakeholders are cashing checks, things are just fine on the business front.

    This is just my take, anyways. But I have never gotten the sense that Jeanie would consider selling the golden goose.

    It's still very initial though, and nothing's going to happen until free agency items are clarified further. But there is active dialogue, which is always good. Let's hope Pelinka and Kurt are as good as they claim.
