Just about 7.5 hours away from the start. Keep in mind the draft lottery nearly always starts about 15 minutes after 7 pm. Either way this should be a tension filled day for the Lakers and us fans.
Interesting question, I think. If the pick is third it means no Simmons or Ingram. Most say if it's the third pick just trade it, but the value of that pick will be significantly less than one or two. It's still a pick and an opportunity to improve now, but you probably aren't looking at a potential star with the third pick in this draft.
On the flip side, if it falls four or five, the Lakers are guaranteed to have their 2017 pick, which most believe is a deeper/more talented draft. Losing the pick now also frees up a little more cap space to play with this summer.
So, if the choice came down to the 3rd pick or sending 4/5 to PHI, which would you choose?
The draft lottery is just four days away. It anxiously awaits us and the entire fan base is nervous and rightfully so. Losing the pick would be a huge blow after enduring what we did the last season with the worst record in franchise history. We were in this exact position last season and we ended up keeping our pick and getting a kid who many think can be a superstar in this league. I'm certainly one of them and that's why while I'd be very disappointed and upset it wouldn't be the end of the world for me. We still would have a lot of cap space to work with and along with D'Angelo with three other really good young basketball players and a new coach who fits with the core perfectly. How down would you be?
Hard to believe the lottery is right around the corner. We pretty much have all been waiting for this or at least expecting we'd be in this position very early in the year when it was clear we were gonna struggle mightily again. I've always been of the mindset that I wanted the...
I already posted in the Technical update thread, but I just wanted to make sure all users noticed that we now have a Stats tab at the top of the page.
You no longer have to leave LB and search the web in order to find Lakers team, and player stats.
@thkthebest created this new area to allow you to search pretty much any stat, from any player from today all the way back to the 1996-1997 season. The functionality is pretty easy to understand too.
Please play around with the controls, and let me know if there are any problems.
This is the tab to get to the new Stats section of LB (NOTE: there is a drop down to pre-select some of the most popular search criteria). Click "fetch data" to retrieve new stats after changing any search criteria:
Our situation is fluid and there will tons of speculation and money flying around everywhere this off-season. What do you predict will happen, and what will the Lakers ACTUALLY do this off-season? I'm predicting a brotastic offseason, and Mitch will kick arse and take names.
