With the whole DJ saga about handshake deal and then DJ doing about face, I came across an interesting article about the Kevin Garnett trade that came close but never happened with the Lakers. The C Bags won the 2008 title immediately after acquiring Garnett and Ray Allen, and made the Finals again two years later. The Big Three of Garnett, Allen and Paul Pierce was the NBA’s defining superteam until LeBron James,Dwyane Wade...
12 man rosters with typically 10 man rotations let's say. The other 2-3 players we have backup for any injuries. Lakers starting 5 vs Clipper starting 5 and benches with 6-10.
My gut feeling without seeing any actual analysis and having not heard other thoughts on this at LB, seriously yet, since all the changes to both rosters that just took place...... is that we're maybe going to be kicking their a** this year. We're too big and strong and athletic and skilled across our roster, young or not, for them to handle us. We'll wear them out by the 4th quarter. Look how we competed last year under Byron with the little to nothing we had left after all the injuries. Look at what we have now. Their short window is closed in L.A. Maybe not a sweep but I'll go with we'll win the series.
