Kobe and LeBron. Magic was not best at the isolation type game. In this circumstance Kobe would guard MJ and LeBron would guard Magic. Magic instantly loses his size advantage and would end up trying to back LeBron down. Of course, my opinion is based on the 275lb roid monster LeBron.
This. If we were talking about a 5 man roster where Magic and Jordan had 3 other teammates, I say they'd win hands down.
I'd have to say out of 10 games if all players were in their prime, Kobe/LeBron i would be tough to beat, i'd say 6-4 Kobe/LeBron
Magic didn't really have a great ISO game, he works better in a full game where he has his size advantage over smaller guards. If assume Kobe and MJ would be guarding each other, no way is Magic defending Lebron well.
Like everyone else said, Magic's game needs a floor full of players cutting, screening, running, really nothing to do with iso. So the choice here is obvious.
It seems pretty unanimous. I have to agree. I think the Kobe/LeBron duo is better suited for a 2 v 2 game than the Jordan/Magic duo. But in an actual NBA game, I'd take Jordan and Magic.
I dunno. Good poll. First gut said lebron/kobe but something tells me jordan trumps kobe (hurts to say it) and magic could post up bron and / or spring MJ for easy j's over kobe when he isn't slashing to hoop on him or over him.
I think people forget how Johnson could score too if he wanted. It might not be pretty, it might not be flashy, it might not be slick but he could get points. Johnson did go against defenders who weren't too shabby in his day. Bobby Jones, Dennis Johnson, Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, Derrick McKey, Cliff Robinson, Michael Cooper [practices]. James is a reputed defender but I was never convinced he was of the shut-down type. Johnson would concede James his outside J which is not to be confused with Glen Rice's... Bryant would be too quick for Jordan and could score from any angle with his outside shot. The latter though would pin 24 down on the block...try to work him over. Opponents with big "2" guards had employed that tactic all through Bryant's career. Difficult to call this one...
Kobe and Lebron would be leading by one bucket late and then LeBron would set a pick on Kobe freeing Jordan for the game winner.
Wow great question! My knee jerk vote was for Jordan and Magic because of Magic, but immediately after hitting the button I had voters remorse. Not sure at all. Best of 7 series I could see though, would be epic if we're talking "primes".
I change my vote.... LBJ would ask for a water break, a timeout, a tv timeout and a massage in the middle of the game because he is too tired from watching Kobe carry the load. While he is sitting MJ and Magic blow the game wide open and win
We're talking in their primes right? If it was a real 2man game, Magic would cut them up, and make LeBron's head spin. Then LeBron would fall over cause he's already light-headed from too much HGH. Jordan's fadeaway jumper is still the best shot I've ever seen. But Kobe could probably match him shot for shot.
