You think they had Tarik escort John out the building after they pink slipped him? That's like Black on Black crime if they did.

Same here. Instead it's just... nothing. There's no content here. Heck in the article it talks about how all 8 black executives he talked to said Pelinka would likely do a good job.

    So... what's the problem?

Couldn't find a reason to take a shot at the Lakers so they reached a little?

Rob Pelinka is a lawyer. So it is very well expected he knows the CBA pretty much better or as good as any other GM.

Webber in last night's Clippers-Warriors game the time to congratulate him...they've known each other twenty plus years. They also mentioned how the move was similar to Myers with Golden State.

Wow @ people saying there were other options besides Rob just to play the race card but they're not saying those options were "better". Imagine if it wasn't Magic doing the actual hiring.

Mitch's big thing was how well he understood the workings of each CBA, mostly as it applies to the Lakers.

A top long-time agent like Pelinka not only intimately understands the workings of each CBA, he understands how the current CBA effects the economics of each NBA team. That is how he squeezes GMs for every dime they can spare. He doesn't "listen" to what GMs say about how much money they have, he knows exactly how much money each team has to spend, their tax line flexibility (if any) and what the owners are willing to do or not do in exceeding that. In other words his CBA knowledge as it applies to other teams willingness to spend eclipses Mitch's. We already know he's a better closer than Mitch, if you don't know that, disillusion yourself. While I appreciated Mitch's un-bending ethics level when it comes to not making promises, sorry, if you aren't willing to paint a rosy picture in a sales job then get out of sales. Word is Rob is an excellent evaluator of talent. That remains to be proven as well as putting the right pieces together. His NBA connections run deep both in players (which Mitch had nothing there) and with front offices.

Rob just needs to shore up any areas he may be weak in by putting good people in there to delegate to. I'm just glad we don't have people in there now who think any sports fan in a bar can evaluate talent as well as a scout, or who can't give a positive answer to a direct question from a FA during an interview.

You know how you stop from losers who use race to benefit in their businesses? You ignore them and never watch or listen to them. Then they go away or bring another subject to their shows.

Rob Pelinka's CV is incredibly good. Go read it. There's no question he's incredibly well qualified.
