Hmm, maybe if the Hawk’s overpay him that helps us retain KCP.

I bet he takes a multi-year deal wherever he goes. Lengthens his playing days and ensures maximum payout.

I wouldn’t mind him on the Clippers. Regular season Rondo would drive their fans crazy, and I don’t know how much longer at his age he can keep playoff Rondo going, he seems to consistently get injured every season toward the end. We just got lucky that his injury healed because the season ran so long, normally that would have kept him out of the playoffs as often happens with him.

I don’t want to take the chance. The Clippers have no leadership and I want it to stay that way

Good ole reliable Bucher (not sure who's worse Bucher or Broussard). But I have seen the Boston rumor pop up a couple places now, separately sourced.

Don't do it Rondo. You just washed the Boston stench off you. Don't go back. Take the Hawks money, I can respect that.

Interesting that he said that doesn't rule out a return. First time hearing that one. Don't see how that would work financially given what we need to still address. But if we can work out a reasonable way to get playoff Rondo to stay, I'm down.

he's won two titles with the two most historic NBA franchises

i can't envision him chasing another ring at his age, or else he'd just stay with the lakers. atlanta seems like a good destination because he could serve as a mentor to young and all the other kids they have

i'm very curious to see who wants to pay him more than we're willing to. same with kcp.

bradley, i can see getting more money than we can/will offer. but we have early bird on rondo and bird on kcp and only so much to spend in FA over the next couple years. we need to make sure we have contracts to move in trade, even if we have to dip into the luxury tax in the short term. the window is still open.

I don’t understand players leaving us to cross the hall so often. Maybe the appeal is after winning with the C Bags and Lakers, to win it all with the worst franchise in NBA history would be quite something.

$15 million from the Hawks for two years would be hard for anyone to beat including the Floppers. I hope Rondo goes to Atlanta. That would be a nice payday for a guy who has two rings and a solid career. And yes that would take another suitor away for KCP, which helps us.

We gotta try to get him back. He was absolutely crucial for us and this upcoming season is only going to be more testing. Just keep him fresh for the playoffs and let him roll.

so the clips are so obsessed with us that they'll spend all their FA cash to take a guy who actively hurt us for most of the season simply because they saw him play a big role in the playoffs?

i don't understand all of these pillage attempts.

also, if we really want him, we can beat any MLE just using our existing rights.

I think the Clippers are looking for a leader first and a point guard second. Rondo can be a leader in that locker room but he can also rub people the wrong way like CP3 did on the Clippers. I wouldn’t mind keeping Rondo but not as a big money player. We need wings more right now depending on what happens with AB and KCP.

Rondo’s leadership doesn’t always work out though, the team has to be receptive to it. Hopefully if he goes to the Clippers it ends like it did in Dallas.
