Very good addition. I hope there's enough money for Avery Bradley still though! Edit- He's a career 42% shooter, but hasn't shown an ability to do much else. He's listed at 6'2", but that's probably generous. I don't think I'd want him to be our starting guard, but he's an excellent bench piece for a really solid price.
Yes. Morris please, and we are done. Beg Iggy later (if he goes to the Clips I will fume). Add Perkins from the summer squad. Telling ya, he is Randle with better passing skills. Maybe Melo if he works hard before camp. Ok.
Yeah. I still want Bradley but I like this on a couple of levels. Experienced guy who is a good shooter.
We got a lot more to do than Morris and Perkins. Even if we start Quinn (which as I'm looking at it more wouldn't be the end of the world, just not ideal), we still need more depth at SF and a lot more depth at guard, we could use another veteran big even after Morris. I know everyone here hates Rondo, but he's a really good bench guard and we should bring him back if we can. Cook/____/ (Caruso?) Green/Caldwell-Pope/Daniels LeBron/_____/Horton-Tucker Davis/Kuzma/Dudley McGee/Morris/_____ edit- I've been told three times I forgot Dudley and Daniels. I'm sorry! Still a lot to do.
FWIW, I think we're doing a better job of filling out our roster with guys that "fit" than last year...
Oh good Lord yes we are. No more "dogs" and "creators" we're going after three point shooters and defenders. I love it. We're going to shock some people at how hot this team will get from outside.
I’ll take him. Still need a backup wing (preferably someone athletic) and a big bodied backup center.
Looking a bit deeper, Quinn's numbers are driven down by poor/inconsistent minutes and usage. Now, admittedly a lot of that is going to be due to him just not being consistently good, but there's some signs that Quinn could be a solid spot starter or at the very least could be a rock solid bench player if given consistent opportunities. In 28 games as a starter Quinn is averaging 13.6 points, 4 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 0.6 steals, 0.1 blocks, with 1.5 turnovers in 31.3 minutes per game. In those games he shoots 46% from the field, 44% from deep, and 86% from the free throw line. All that said, he's just not a good defender at his size and with his limited athleticism. Starting him long-term would be rough. Still a great add at this cost though.
Good stuff - "spot starter" is the perfect phrase - and if he's a valuable bench contributor, can eat up some minutes playing the 1 while spacing the floor, that's all I want...
Bradley or Rondo. You forgot Daniels and Dudley. SMH Perkins will be the third backup big. Space for Iggy or maybe Parker if he wants to gamble on him self.
