This is a valuable signing, which is why, despite our lack of playmaking, I don’t get suggesting we trade him (and McGee) away already. It’s super valuable to have a bench guy ready to come in and get hot at any time, a guy who can bomb threes and has Finals experience. Guys will get hurt, some guys will have it some nights and not another, it’s why depth is a great luxury to have.

Listening to Frank Vogel‘s post game press conference he was glowing while speaking about Quinn Cook and what he means to the team

Outside of two games where he shot 3/4 from three, he’s 6-27 (22%) from 3. Yes there is the argument that he needs to play more to find more rhythm but two things with that....

    - That’s not his role in the playoffs, he’s currently failing the role he will have come that time.

    - He offers nothing else on the court aside from shooting.

Yea it sucks watching a knucklehead in Rondo make bonehead plays but Cook can barely dribble the ball up the court against pressure.

If you are a liability at your own only job you have no place on the roster. Only thing saving him is he’s besties with the big dawgs on the team (Same with Rondo)

I think he needs to play more. Playing once in every 3-4 games for just a few minutes isn't doing us any favors right now.

There's really no excuse for Rondo being in the same lineup as LeBron; we need to start eliminating those mins, IMO.

Situationally, Cook can be inserted into those 5-man units and spread the floor provided he's shooting well...

Yea find the game he’s shooting lights out I agree, otherwise we will be playing 4 on 5 while he’s on the court.

Who has the better handles between Cook and Daniels and who is the better defender between them? I know both are weak in those two areas and Daniels is supposedly the better 3 point shooter. One of them though should be expendable for Iggy or any other buy out improvement to the squad.

Cook has the better handles (not saying much); Daniels is the better defender.

    However, both are redundant...

Well, defensive honk that Vogel is, plus Daniels being the better shooter historically from 3 explains what happened to Cook's minutes then, once Rondo came back and is being played too many minutes. Especially since Daniels isn't getting all that many.

Essentially, it's a roster problem. Rob needs to fix it.

Understood Doc, but Rondo is playing too much. Too many turnovers, bad shooting/not shooting and very little D. I'd just like a more even split of the minutes to see what Cook can do on a more consistent basis.

I need for Cook to play every game, even if for a few minutes. You have to at least see if he’s on that game or not. With this roster our 3pt shooting from the guards is what I think can separate us from everybody. If these guys are going to be on the team, get them shooting and eating some of these minutes.

Fantastic game tonight. I still like Cook a lot and have been calling for him to get more minutes. Nice to see him step up when the opportunity presented itself.
