feel like if we can match salary, he'll stay. why would you want to live elsewhere and work with a less noteworthy franchise in the same role for the same money? because kyrie irving is there??? that's a reason NOT to go. because steve nash is the new coach? yippy skippy. you live in southern california comfortably and are associated with a historic organization. you've pretty much hit the pinnacle of the kind of career you wanted. unless you want to be a head coach or something, you're home.

Some guys just like new challenges. Handy could / should have stayed with the Raptors but he came our way. I hope he stays, but I get wanting something new.

OK Nash, we're willing to make a counter:

Take Kidd, Dudley, and Green. We'll take Harris. Bing. Bang. Boom.

Hopefully Handy stays. I do get a kick out of the rumor that MDA might be Nash's assistant though. I'd prefer he make him the ball boy and do suicide sprints every practice, but I'll settle for the other.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out but I expect us to match salaries for our staff. I do think Kidd would leave for a head coaching opportunity.

If Kidd left we could offer his slot to Dan Tony as that “ace” offensive coordinator?

Is there one tangible thing Kidd has done for us as a coach?

I mean plotting and biding his time for Vogel is neither what we would pay for or something that has worked well for him.

Sometimes it is hard to tell with coaches. Ettore Messina had those couple of plays he drew up in the odious time of Mike Brown, Bernie Bickerstaff was famously undefeated after Mike Brown's failure to launch in his Princeton Offensive season. I mean unless you get thrown out or have a bad back Luke's famous streak when Steve Kerr which surely helped him get the Laker's coaching job. I mean Luke's staff could have all been frat buddies for all I knew.

I just was curious if Jason Kidd had done anything noteworthy, I have not seen as many Laker training or other candid shows as others. I just couldn't see why he couldn't help design some plays when we were all (I think all is fair) ragging on our offense and Lebron ball etc.

Vogel "Any ideas for the offense J Kidd"

Jason Kidd "Spill my drink..... oops I mean hold my beer"

Vogel "Wait, that is actually beer? Why are you drinking during a game do you think you're Ron Artest now?"

Jason Kidd "Cos i'm Dennis Hopper in Hoosiers I do what I want"

nothing tangible I can point to but from what I understand he’s seen as a sharp basketball mind and teams are interested.

I would up Handy's salary: dump Hollins and Kidd if you need but Handy with the Lakers scouting seems like a combo you want to try solidify long term

Great news... Phil is staying. Or at least, heavily implying that he is.

"I'm waiting for Vogel to call or text me the next directive."

Good read from The Athletic's David Aldridge

Nothing we didn't already know about AD, but hearing it come from someone like Handy leaves me like this...

I found it interesting that Penberthy works so much with AD.

Some good alpha comparisons between Kob and Bron.

Can we lock Handy up long term. Need to keep this guy around and discourage teams like the Nets from trying to poach him.
